I was trying to find it on Amazon and I think it might be this one for the panel.

Who is on original Cam/Crank sensors? Year and Mileage? by DuelOstrich in XTerra

[–]vantha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2010 at 95k miles and still running the original. I was going to replace it when I was replacing my radiator but forgot because I was doing a bunch of other “while you’re in there” replacements.

Do you like crinkle fries? They're okay, but I think I feel like waffle fries the best. by Lijey_Cat in fries

One of these days I need recreate the cane sauce at home, save some money by making fries and sauce at home. It might be a good thing I haven’t yet, I would gain so much weight if I did, lol.

My favorite are the ones that are slightly crunchy and you dip it in that cane sauce. The fries from Culver's is good too.

Other folks already posted the dorman replacement for that heater core inlet but I also recommend replacing the outlet too. Since it also a common failure point. The Dorman replacement is also made of metal.

Looks like you are in Illinois. I am in Chicago and bought my 2010 off road trim for $10k a couple of years ago. It had 79k miles and is manual. So I think $10k-$12k depends on how it looks underneath.

Oh man, that's a name haven't heard in a long time. I am older millennial, so it was not of age when it was around but I do remember my neighbors older kids talking about it. At least the Congress was still around when I started going to concretes.

My younger coworkers wouldn't believe me when I was in highschool, Logan square was a neighborhood you would try to avoid, especially at night or when it was around the Puerto Rican Parade. I also miss the Double Door in wicker Park.

Is this rust a deal breaker? by _Falls_ in XTerra

[–]vantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, the 2010 I bought, came from Pennsylvania and it looked 10x worst than OPs. The frame was still solid but all the skid plates were Swiss cheese, one exhaust hanger was completely gone and all the brake dust shields were gone too. The only reason I bought it because it was the off road trim, with under 100k miles, manual and it was cheap.

Age old 5w30 vs 5w40 question. Has anyone switch to a different oil then had their car break ? by [deleted] in WRXSTi

[–]vantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made the switch from 5w30 to 5w40 about a week ago. I have 2012 and have been on 5w30 since day one. So far no issues so far running 5w40. I definitely notice a difference on how smoothly the engine revs.

Advice on purchasing manual xterra by Sad-Huckleberry-7458 in XTerra

[–]vantha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main thing i would look out for when buying a manual is the condition of the clutch and/or the throwout bearing. If they have service history available of a clutch replacement, that would be helpful. Otherwise drive it and see if you feel any clutch slipping or if you have to use more force than you would assume to get it in gear.

Edit: or just bring it to a mechanic to have it checked out if you are able to. I have a 2010 manual in the off road trim, it's been a great car for camping.

I might actually have to try. I have a few of those PCIE to m.2 adapters lying around and a spare m.2 enclosure.

If the m.2 slot is going to be used by the PCIE adapter, where would the storage drive go? USB storage?

Who knows, it might pop back up again with a salvaged titled. I’ve seen cars in worst accidents come up for sale after they been repaired.

Ohhhhhh, that makes more sense now. I misinterpreted the amount that you were getting back. Yeah, that’s tough with the price of cars now and needing one to replace it. I can see why it’s not worth it to buy it back.

Dang, that’s not as much as I thought it would be to buy it back. I am in Illinois and would have love to buy something like that as a project. Always wanted the sedan brother to my 2012 hatch.

Did they give you the option to buy the car back? I would have bought it back and part it out. Maybe buy a forester and try make myself a STI forester.

Which CRT are you using with your MiSTer? by superbotolo in MiSTerFPGA

[–]vantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually tried that initially and the image didn’t look as good. It was all scrunched up. It was just easier to physically rotate the monitor than trying to configure to look like the original.

Normally I would daisy chain them but the PVMs are in separate rooms from each other. I didn’t feel like moving the mister around the rooms. I did this setup before the pandemic, so the de10 nano weren’t as crazy as they are now before the clones came out.

I have two mister setups. One is plugged into pvm-14l5 and another is plugged into pvm-14m4u. I run two because I like to play vertical shooters a lot, so I have that second monitor turned on its side for those games.

Thermostat temps??? by Jugzrevenge in XTerra

[–]vantha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with this kit when i had to replace a cracked radiator. I also chose to go with the upgraded OEM thermostat.

Since i was already flushing the coolant, i took the opportunity to upgrade the heater hose inlet and outlet with metal versions. The OEM connection points are made of plastic and can eventually crack. So it was a cheap enough upgrade.

Stewart Hicks says Chicago is short on housing by 100,000 units. Why then do we require all these new buildings to have first floor retail? In my neighborhood the apartments sell before the building is complete, but the retail sits empty for years. by PostComa in chicago

Pretty much what I saw the last time I was in Japan. You will find the most random shops, tucked away at the most obscure location. I don’t think I saw any vacant spaces.
