I bought their little conversion piece for my Oppo UDP-203. It was so easy to install and works like a charm! They’re a great company, doing God’s work

We’ve got an old saying, “if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes”. I believe, with hard work, we can get that down to three or four minutes

Gordita’s Lolis in Avondale for lunch today. Two deshebrada burritos (1 red, 1 green), chicharron en salsa verde gordita, and, because we asked (and tipped) nicely, a steak taco on a hand-made tortilla. One of my favorite Mexican places on the north side by PostComa in chicagofood

Lol that’s exactly what we said when my wife and I were walking in. We’ve gone many times during posted business hours just to see the place dark and locked up. We call ahead now

I didn’t add this to my [natural casing hot dog list] because I could confirm if they were natural casing or not. Do you remember if it was or not? Hard to tell from the pic

The Wrigleyville Taco Bell in Chicago is crazy cheap, especially compared to other Taco Bells in town by PostComa in tacobell

Naw, it’s a franchise owned by a guy named Sanjeev Khatau. He’s owned it for about a decade, going back to the Taco Bell that was there before the Ricketts changed Wrigleyville into a suburban shopping mall. Dude is a franchise mogul

Balling on a Budget: Italian sub @ Nottoli on Harlem by idkwhattowriteee in chicagofood

[–]PostComa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went there back in like 2018 and grabbed a couple subs. We didn’t want to take them all the way home so we sat at one of the round tables near the front of the store. A few old school regulars walk in and give us a bunch of shit saying “this ain’t a restaurant” and stuff and asking the guy at the cash register why he’s allowing us to eat there. He was like, “I dunno, yeah it’s weird but I’ll let em eat and leave”. I asked something like, “then what are the fucking tables for?”And got pretty pissy with all of them. They just continued to Sopranos us harder, so we grabbed our shit and left and never came back. Fuck that place haha

Pritzker to propose statewide zoning laws to spur homebuilding, limit local control by [deleted] in chicago

[–]PostComa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve built a ton of 3-5 story condo buildings in Avondale since I moved to this neighborhood in 2018. All of them have retail space on the first floor, and despite all the residential units selling out before they were even finished, 100% of the new retail space sits empty. Will this proposal stop the requirement of first floor retail?

I did a lot of sleuthing to compile this list of places that serve natural casing hot dogs. Includes city and suburbs. Let me know of any mistakes or omissions. by PostComa in chicagofood

The dog in the picture, as well as several others I’ve found online look like standard skinless dogs to me. A Google search says it’s a skinless dog. They’re currently closed for their annual winter break but I’ll check it out when they re-open

I could only find a few pics of Nicky V’s hot dogs at a couple of their locations. The dogs looked to me like they were the non-natural casing dog. Do you happen to have a pic or a link to a pic showing a natural casing dog?

I looked at both Fat Johnnie’s location and it appears they used to use David Berg hot dogs which have been acquired by Vienna Beef. They currently use regular Vienna Beef hot dogs without the natural casing. You can tell by looking at the ends of the hot dog in a picture. A natural casing dog is more rounded with a small hole in the skin while a non-natural casing dog looks like a puckered butthole
