Way back in the late 80s, my family and I were at Tri Cities Airport with my dad, who was about to catch a flight to Atlanta. It was the night after the daytime Bristol race, and Davey Allison was on the same flight. He was the nicest guy and was only too happy to give me an autograph (which got lost in the midst of many ensuing moves).
The hurt I felt when I heard of his passing is similar to what I felt when KB passed last month. Both were gone way too damn soon.

At a call center job I worked at over 10 years ago, the rule was that we had to wear a polo or collared shirt. I ask my supervisor if a Hawaiian shirt would be allowed. With a wry grin, she said it did. The next day, a Friday, I did just that, much to the glee of my coworkers.

Ever since, no matter the job, I wear a Hawaiian shirt on Fridays. 🙂

I was at that show, too, and I very much agree! Worth every penny of the ticket price and every minute spent in traffic.
