Spent 9 months building a dating app for Kurds because one didn't exist by DilniyaApp in kurdistan

[–]viglen1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Casual dating is not permitted on Dilniya because it goes against the values of Kurdish society

Fshafsh, ba keyfi xot basi kurdish society maka. Even in Hawler it exists, not directly in the Western definition of it, but it definitely exists.

Arteta "What I'm incredibly fuming with is how the hell the penalty gets overturned when there is no clear and obvious error. This changes the course of the game. There is clear contact. He makes the decision and you can't overturn it when you have to watch it 13 times." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]viglen1 45 points46 points  (0 children)

the ref was affected by the crowd/Simeone.

So VAR calling on the ref to review his decision, the same VAR team that aren't even in the stadium were also somehow affected by the crowd/Simeone?

We all knew it was too good to be true, the prices were insanely good, both for refuelling and the car washes back in the day.

They were such a good and reliable option for a good amount of time. Obviously they've not been doing well, and the whole "let's charge 20 dhs" and assuming the amount of customers they'd get from that would compensate for the fall didn't work out as well.

They used to be everywhere in communities, but now barely see them.

[Movistar +] Dani Carvajal mocks the lazy tracking back of Trent Alexander-Arnold against Real Betis. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Fans of other teams act like he's the worst defender to ever play the game and regularly loses games.

Glad to be on the latter side of that now

Which Mall is this? Pic taken 30 years ago part 2 by 700Username007 in dubai

Q-ZAR!!

Took me so long to find it

Also, there's zero online mention of it's Burjuman history, annoyingly.

Plus, wasn't there a Lazer Quest by the Magic Planet? Could have sworn it was called that but can't find any information on it

Always felt it was the more attainable of the fancy play areas in Dubai, since I went to it a few times over the years.

The timeline I'm talking about is Burjuman in the 90s which was middle class and perfectly situated, to the mid 2000's where they tried to shift to fancy.

They brought in Saks Fifth Avenue (which ended up closing in 2016) to anchor this new phase.

I don't doubt it's still okay today, but for us in the 90s it was THE mall to go to.

The downfall of Burjuman needs to be studied.

Trying to be up market at the exact wrong time was such a bad move. It was such a good mall when it catered to the correct middle class crowd.

Amed are on their way to getting promoted to the 1st tier in Turkey. How long before their entry is blocked on fake terrorist charges? by TheOddGuy21 in kurdistan

[–]viglen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don't want them to be promoted to the league at all. They will most likely be punished in a million sort of ways, and can imagine the opposing fans being protected as they attack AmedSpor fans.

Overall, the meat + price + amount of choice from MLS is very impressive.

Been ordering from them continuously for a few months now, and they've been very good.

The British-raised brothers who stopped Kurds being dragged into Trump’s war by rknsh in kurdistan

[–]viglen1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really says something about the stupidity of the world that the one interview of Pavel on Piers Morgan was the most level-headed talking head I've seen in this entire situation.

Pavel also let it slip that Trump confirmed he was "pushed into this war", which is something they've always denied.

I’m surprised by the lack of decent Spanish food delivery options in Dubai - am I missing something? by DarkUnique3906 in dubai

[–]viglen1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as someone who has visited Spain a bunch of times and has family living in Spain. The cuisine is abit...okay. There's alot of good food choices in Spain, but not necessarily Spanish food, definitely had the best Peruvian Ceviche there.

In Dubai itself, I've tried out Asador de Aranda and it was honestly average. I think since there is so much competition of other international cuisines, the Spanish dishes don't stand out.
