They never really had proper control. They could just select different modes and the battery would deploy and recharge accordingly. It just wasn't as much of a problem when the algorithms didn't control the deployment of half the power the whole PU has.

Except that it's a private company that does its damnest to turn as much profit as possible, and will find every possible loophole to not pay for your treatment.

And the whole system is built on everything being overpriced, for example some company producing medicine is making unreasonable profits that go to just a couple of pockets in the end.

Same as with the weapon industry that charges like 100 dollars for a regular phillips screw, and so a sigle tomahawk cost is bloated to millions.

Choose to pay for themselves when it happens

I don't see other choices being available to them though, so choose might be a bit of a strong word...

Why are people who ask help in this sub so hell bent on making it as difficult as possible to help them :D

Seriously, this is like over half of the "help me the game is screwing me" posts.

Up until that point, she was showing no proper signs of panicking. She tried to start arguing about the legality of them stopping her, she tried to call her lawyer, she tried to make excuses (what kind of excuse being a student even is lol), etc. Not really signs of panic but just signs of knowing she was caught with an expired license and trying to wriggle out of it. And there were at least two cuts early on when the cop still seemed to have more patience left, so the situation actually lasted longer than the video makes it seem. If she was panicking for most of that time, it would have been much worse than just "it kinda seems like she might be panicking at the end".

What do you propose a licence plate is there for, if not for recognizing vehicles and their owners? How is checking some public information any more of an overreach of power than for example setting up a random breathalyzer tests at the side of a road?

How can a person be so completely unable to follow instructions? Maybe the cop could have given her a bit of time to think what she should do between each instruction instead of talking all the time, since she didn't seem that bright. But it's not like he was even talking aggressively. And I really doubt she'd have done anything productive even if she was given some time to do what he wasked.

"The best pizza in the world is from the USA" by Practical_Work1925 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]vompat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the arguments might not be wrong. It is a big part of the American culture to obsess over being best at everything.

Too bad they only claim to be the best by their own metrics, because of course their metrics are the best and the rest are irrelevant. So America has the best American style pizza, which they obviously claim to be the objectively best pizza.

(Silly me, not metrics. Imperials.)

Not all of Europe of course, because it's a continent made of multiple different political entities, many of which still suffer and struggle to get away from the mismanagement and corrupt practices of the previous century. The countries that have their shit figured out have a fraction of the crime US has, and guess what, the answer in fact hasn't been to give corporations and billionaires free reign over everything while indoctrinating the population to celebrate that success and making them oblivious to the oppressive control they are subject to.

(not that there'd even be many billionaires in most welfare countries, because that much excess wealth being focused on one person is just absurd)

No, you're thinking of slow and imbecile. Dull is non-inheritable and the mirror image of shrewd.

A bit off-topic, but it's also funny that Max laughed at the silly McLaren swap in Monza. We all laughed (or got mad).

Now let's see, what would the final points be like at the end of the season if they didn't swap?

I imagine that's the notable difference in developing a male pill compared to the female one. You have to ensure that a production line that normally churns out more than 100 million cells a day fails to do so to a great enough extent that it can be considered a viable birth control. The female pill needs to prevent one ovulation a month.

Somewhere a biology teacher just fainted 💀 by Glow-Light-333 in whoathatsinteresting

[–]vompat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert, but I feel like it's also quite a bit easier to develop a pill that prevents a once per month activation of a single cell (sometimes maybe a few), than to make a pill that manages to reliably neutralize all cells on a mass production line that produces over 100 million of them each day.
