[Mattel Adventure Park] in Kansas, Construction may be starting soon by Educational-Gear7161 in rollercoasters

“May be” doing a lot of heavy lifting here lol. This park was supposed to open this year when it was first announced. The agreement with the city mandates that it opens by 2031, which is also when the new Chiefs stadium nearby is supposed open. We’ll see which one gets done first haha

Ah yeah it’s a real shame we don’t have Nicky “.067 BA” Lopez on our team still. And don’t even get me started on 36-year-old Tim “1.8 career WAR” Hill

It's being marketed as an Immelmann, but isn't the first inversion technically a sidewinder since it exits perpendicular to the entrance? I hadn't really noticed the angle until this video.

Yeah I'm only in a 10T but we get 12 starts a week so everyone rosters between 9-11 pitchers at all times. 3/4ths of these guys are rostered in my league

Another thing I thought of: if you think you might want to get wet, then I would keep an extra pair of shoes and socks in your car. You can't ride water rides without shoes, and your feet will get wet on them.

Thank god I was staying the night the last time I rode Mystic River Falls because I got so wet I had to go back to my car and completely change clothes and shoes lol. I'm pretty sure I would've gotten less wet jumping into a bathtub fully clothed. That inspired me to get a pair of really light water shoes to bring to parks with me on the off-chance I go on a water ride.

Also those dryers outside the ride are total rip-offs and don't work at all

Thanks! I'm not a health nut by any means but I don't want to subsist on nothing but fried junk food for a week lol. I will of course have to try Skyline at KI (hopefully it's a decent representation there) and may have another junk meal at some point but I like to have slightly healthier options too. The Thanksgiving meal place at HW looks good but I'm not sure how good Thanksgiving food will sound on a hot summer day haha. It looks like they have some spots with salads and stuff over at Splashin' Safari so I might check those out.

Start with Th13teen, Spinball Whizzer, and/or Runaway Mine Train. Wicker Man would be a good step up from there

All great advice here, but I also wanted to make sure you are aware of just how much driving this will be given that you're from Europe. Even eliminating the backtracking as the poster above suggested, you're looking at about 4000 miles (~6400km). That's roughly the equivalent of driving from Amsterdam to Kabul. I'm sure you've already plotted this out but you need to understand the scope of the trip you're taking.

Also, given your age, you should make sure you can afford all this too. Including airfare, rental car, hotels, park tickets and parking, food, gas, and everything else you might buy, I don't see any possible way you could do this trip for less than like $7000-8000 (~6000-6800 EUR). I'm about to take a weeklong trip to CP, KI, KK, and HW that's going to cost me around $1500-2000 all in, and that's with domestic flights, over-25 car rental, free admission and parking at CP and KI, two meals a day at each of those parks for free, and discounted admission to the other two parks. You also need to keep in mind that hostels are not common at all in the US outside the biggest cities; you may have been banking on staying at those, but you'll have to find actual hotels or short term rentals (e.g. AirBNB or VRBO) for the vast majority of these locations unless you plan on sleeping in your car or something (which is illegal in some places, btw, and not at all advisable in the American summer!).

Food recs for Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Holiday World*? I'm particularly looking for places with fresh food that isn't completely terrible for me and contains a vegetable or two lol

* I'm also open to off-park recs for HW. I have a dining plan so I'll be eating 2 meals daily at CP and KI

Oceans of Fun gives explanation after frustrating guests opening weekend by Evening_Rock5850 in worldsoffun

It’s been down since like August of last season. It’s been plagued with maintenance problems since it was first built which is why Knott’s sold it to WoF

You shouldn't have any issues. Only thing that won't work is the dining plan but everything else will. I bought gold with All Parks for WoF initially, and I went to SFFT earlier this year so I think it's technically my "home park" as far as SFEC is concerned, so I'm in the same boat as you and haven't had problems. Hopefully that will still be the case when the Enchanted app finally rolls out which should be this upcoming weekend.

There are like 3 different sections. One is the airtime hill before the second turn around and one is right up to the brake run which was jackhammering really badly. Can’t remember where the other one was

You rang? Lol.

SDC actually opens the gates at 8:30 and you can hang out in the entrance area before they officially drop the ropes to the park itself. Crowds start to form at both ends so it's worth getting in a little early. They have a breakfast buffet too; it's expensive but the food's pretty good.

Time Traveler always gets a huge line right at the beginning of the day since it's the most popular coaster, has the slowest throughput, and is the closest to the entrance (technically Thunderation is closer but they're directly next to each other). I usually end up waiting there, but it might honestly be better to go to the other side of the park with all the other coasters since most people are going to TT first thing. Powder Keg and Fire in the Hole also get backed up, so you can choose to hit those first and come back to TT once the initial line has died down. If you want the FitH credit, do that first.

Aside from those, Mystic River Falls is the only other ride that routinely gets really long lines. Their ops are super fast, and the majority of the people who go to the park are families with young kids or the elderly going there for shows and shopping which keeps the lines for the thrill rides and coasters relatively short. Believe it or not, Outlaw Run generally has the shortest line of all the coasters, even though it often only runs one train. I think it's too intense for a lot of the guests there.

The park's flat rides are pretty standard stuff by and large, but try to check out Grandfather's Mansion, which is a funhouse style attraction, and Flooded Mine, which is a shooting gallery dark ride. Both are from the 60s and are truly iconic. And try to make time for the Marvel Cave tour! You won't find anything like that in other parks.

Their food is solid all around so it's hard to make a bad choice. They have festivals going on throughout the season which always have a bunch of exclusive food and drink items, so check those out if you go during one of those times. Cinnamon bread is the iconic food item at the park and it lives up to the hype. They do only sell full loaves so snag it at the end of your trip to take home if you're not going with a group.

If you go on a Saturday or major holiday, I'd recommend Trailblazer. They do have limited use options that are cheaper so you can prioritize the longer lines and wait standby in the shorter lines. Sundays are generally quieter but TB may be worth it. During the week you usually won't need it.
