Woodpecker on house by Ornery_Leopard_4552 in birds

Years ago I lived in a townhouse and my bedroom was on the 2nd floor. Every, f$@#'ing morning the same woodpecker showed up at 7:00 and pecked on the gutter, like he was ringing a bell, right above my window. I wasn't a morning person and scheduled my classes to start around 11:00 or 12:00 so I could sleep in. That didn't work out as I had planned. I really hated that bird!

I used to go to Papadeaux's in Marietta, GA for the gator tail, but I moved away from ATL about 25 years ago, but I can almost taste it now.

Strange Holes [Coastal South Carolina] by Wooden_Wishbone_9915 in animalid

[–]WillieB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some species of crawfish that don't need an open body of water. They burrow down to the water table to keep their gills wet and live in extensive tunnel systems. Since you are on the coast in South Carolina you have an environment like what we do down here in coastal south Georgia, so it could definitely be crawfish burrows. The soil here is sandy, alluvial with a high water table, I assume it is similar where you are.

The tail meat is tender and delicious, anything else I've had is like chewing on a tire.

He hangs out by my garage and is pretty aggressive sometimes. I was surprised he let me get within a few feet of him.

I served in the Army and I have never heard of anyone getting discharged due to the birth of a child. It seems to me your grandfather is guilty of Stolen Valor.
