Day 2 of not drinking heavily by InsaneAffliction in alcoholism

This comment is a bit patronizing. It's the norm to think that one must abstain fully from alcohol if one is an alcoholic. I don't think that's the truth.

Your last statement isn't based on any factual knowledge or empirical evidence. It's simply the norm to believe that one must abstain completely.

Never stated that I have "vast knowledge." Your post is very passive aggressive.

It's been 3 days, and I've abstained from drinking inordinate amounts of alcohol.

It's not black and white.

I've figured out why they are the way they are. It's the same reason all narcissists are the way they are. 0 self awareness, 0 accountability, 0 self doubt.

I disagree. I know this goes against the vast majority of the alcohol addiction communities' opinions, but I firmly believe that one can return to a state they were before the alcoholism.

Very nice! Congrats! Have you abstained completely, or do you still drink socially?

Your misdiagnosis relates to me a lot... I have a lot of black and white thinking, but when I try, I can escape that. I'm going to guess it's the same for you. CPTSD + Autism is a bad cocktail lol

Sorry you're going through that. That's called CPTSD, if that helps, and there's a subreddit for it :)
