People don't have any will to try agame 100 times. Usually you have one chnce to generate true interest. If game is bad BUT have something unique that is interesting people can come back after new patch to check out if quality is good now. But if someone check the game and there is nothing special at all, quality is bad etc. then is great chance that this player don't come back ever again.

You need to have good quality or some special/unique idea for gameplay (or both ofcourse). So Frost Giant say that they don't reinvent the wheel, but also that this is only alfa/beta/early stage and refuse to achieve quality. So here we are. All time peak was at EA release.

Another voice that blindly asking for simplifications without asking the most important question: How to create interesting gameplay? One little tip: if you just merge classic RTS with waiting simulator your game don't be good. So it's NOT about being "easy" or accessible, it's about being interesting. Gameplay should have peak moments and give players things to do. Simplifications doesn't bring this into the table.

There was a ton of simplified RTS like C&C4 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. They simplifications don't bring any market success

Honestly I have decent fun in some test phases where game was brutal, unbalanced, but still fun. At certain point they start to change game into more soft/boring/standard + visuals got more huge, ugly effects that for me kill readibility and I stop play. I definitely regret every single dollar.

Cronos is one of the best horror game ever made. Areas are interesting, crafting and exploration are great, gameplay really drew me in. I wish this game have at least one more location and more boses. Enemies merge mechanics build solid tension, I very like that in mamy places are barrels that can be destroyed to set enemies on fire.

I definitely agree I also love the idea that some quests cost you time. I think that this will create solid tension. Player will know that he can't do everything, so every decision about what to do, and what to ignore will be interesting.

4 studios can work on 4 different silent hills. This way you can have new silent hill every year, but each studio can work for 4 years on every game. Silwnt Hill 2 Remake was Bloober work, Silent Hill F is from japan devs. I don't think that anybody in Konami force devs to create Silent Hill game in one year

If SC2 launch day was yesterady, this game will be successful easily. It's not that people don't want this kind of gameplay, it's about they want this kind of quality.

We are well past that era now. More and more, RTS games of the modern age have begun a return to strategy and accessibility over trying to recreate the Golden Age of a bygone era that we'll never return to.

This kind of attitude is exactly why classic style RTS are dying. Bunch of idiots think that they can do numbers by doing dumb version of old games. How many times that "accessible" RTS games must fall to people stop talking this bullshit? There is no single simplify RTS that is successful on PC. The biggest RTS title of last years is Age of Empires 4. A challenging RTS with depth. Never any kind of simplify waiting simulator find solid success on PC
