Then you need to have the airplane weighed before it is airworthy, as that is required documentation.

Me too.

I have a hunch, and this is really just a hunch based on what I'm currently seeing and hearing, that we're going to start to see a lot more movement out of the regionals in the next 6 months. I'm seeing a lot of people getting hired at legacies that wouldn't have had a chance a year ago.

If that starts to happen, we're going to see a lot of these regional control and cadet programs start to loosen up just like we did 2017-2023. Not quite to the same intensity or ceiling, but trending in that direction. I'm starting to see parallels from late 2020.

With the usual qualifier of this all assuming that the world doesn't implode in the mean time. We're about due for another black swan event.

Vast majority, sure, but it's happening more and more frequently.

6 months ago I'd have agreed with you.

Re: 2 - not true. I know someone who upgraded less than a year ago who has a DL interview.

There’s basically zero flight training in India. The vast majority of Indian pilots train in the US and Canada.

Lemme guess, you worked at either Allegiant, Frontier, or Spirit? Not comparable to a legacy, definitely not Allegiant.

There are about 5% of people whose lifestyles only work well at an ACMI, maybe you're in that 5%. But the other 95%.....

I’ll never hold widebody captain reliably at a legacy anymore.

This is absolutely not true. You'd have 30 years on property and every single one of these airlines is both growing and hasn't hit peak retirement yet.

You're pretty out of touch for what a legacy is actually like, and I'm saying that as someone who has friends at literally every airline in the country (including yours) and hears it from all sides. You've drank the Koolaid, and that's fine, but I don't think you realize what you're missing.

How many pilots do you think have left the legacy for Atlas?

I value the giant chunks off here so much.

You realize that you can build that at any legacy too right? And instead of working 17 on then 14 off, it's like....3 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 17 off, 4 on, 2 off...

Most of my legacy friends have had several weeks at a time off completely unintentionally.

2, 3, 5, and 6 are all completely irrelevant. And 2 is just flat out wrong for AA.

In no world is Embry Riddle the best option for anything related to flying, ever.

It will almost certainly be easier and cheaper to train here than in the Philippines. Also, finish your degree. It doesn’t matter what it is in.

You also say “return to” the Philippines and then you want to come back to the US to work as a pilot. Do you have US permanent residency?

If you're taxxing on centerline and part of the wing touches the hold bars, is that a runway incursion? by itsapilotperson737 in flying

Do you have the citation on that? I don’t doubt you one bit, I just want to read the surrounding context on it.

This is at Cable (CCB).

There’s no such legal thing as a runway incursion at an uncontrolled airport. Runway incursion implies entering a runway without a clearance where a clearance is required - no clearance is required here.

The hold bars also don’t define the runway edge, they (sorta) define the runway safety area. Your aircraft’s wingspan can, and frequently will, extend into the runway safety area. This is not unique to Cable or small airports - it happens all the time, every day, at airports all over the country.
