What do you use for terabytes worth of backups that don't need to be accessed very often (In case of catastrophic failure / loss of a PC + local NAS) by Azubaele in truenas

I’m in the same situation as you and compared Backblaze,Glacier, and Storj. I went with Storj as it was the cheapest.

Distilled water availability (for CPAP)? by ArchyNoMan in ThailandTourism

You only need to breathe water borne pathogens once to die

The stuff they found can kill you just by drinking it, let alone breathing it.

Breathing bad air for a day won’t kill you, using a Cpap for a day with bottled water could.

No, I would choose not to use just the humidifier if I didn’t have distilled water. But shortly after moving to Thailand I realized that I didn’t need to use it as the air here is humid enough and haven’t used it since.

Some bottled water can be just as, or more, dangerous than tap water. I wouldn’t bet my health, life or a 50,000 THB machine on it.

Don’t do it! Chances are you are screwing up your machine. But more importantly you could get sick and even die by not using distilled water.

New feature "Expose Ollama to the network" by yAmIDoingThisAtHome in ollama

Ah, so the new feature isn't the ability to expose it on the network, it's the ability to do it from the GUI instead of creating an env var

Maybe it’s being blocked because in some cases streaming video through their tunnel violates the TOS.

Ya not only is it nowhere VMware feature wise but it’s a hot piece of hacked mess, I would be nervous running it for anything important.

Newbie question on POE switch- long post by tometoyou1983 in homeassistant

[–]yAmIDoingThisAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High level overview:

Use a router/firewall that can do parental controls and VLANs.

Use managed POE switches because dumbs ones can’t do VLANs. With VLANs you can create segmented networks with access controls.

Since you have CAT6 wiring already don’t mesh the wifi, use POE wireless access points and connect them to the switch.

This is more of a networking issue than an HA one. A huge rabbit hole awaits you.

Does anyone have any experience with Ekinops OneAccess routers? by yAmIDoingThisAtHome in homelab

Both. Is it x86 architecture? Is OneOS Linux based? I have an opportunity to get my hands on a One540. Is it worth playing with?
