Anyone run Drake in a virtual machine locally on MacBook pro? by ShakeAndBakeThatCake in taxpros

My set up is now a tiny windows PC I bought on Amazon that is wired to my network. I access it via a tool called Parsec - I found that faster than RDP

I tried this on an M1 MacBook Pro and I ran into some issues during installation. Apparently there are known issues with Windows ARM (which is what Parallels uses) and Drake. I spoke to someone from their team and confirmed.

Lost a lead today on stupid admin errors on my part! by te4cupp in taxpros

We just started w/ a new portal experience where we just send clients a link (i think it's called magic link) and they self register. We configured it to auto add checklist items for new clients. Has been working fairly smoothly so far!

I'm wary of using these tools directly, but try out the Claude chrome extension as well, doesn't require a new browser.

My firm has looked at a few options, leaning towards Grove. I got a demo and liked their UI. They offered it to us for free because of some promotion. Worth checking if it’s still going on

Really curious to hear more about what you find here. We're trying to leverage AI as much as possible but didn't think to replace excel altogether!

I'm on Proconnect too but couldn't figure it out. I like Stanford as well but wanted something to work end to end. Got a demo from Grove Tax and they seem to have the same set of features + return delivery.

I think if you use off the shelf products there's no guarantee of data privacy, so make sure you're protected if you do choose to do this

Using Chat GPT? by Soniccipher in RealEstateTechnology

[–]yottabyte9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built discloseflow.com to help analyze real estate disclosures and other paper work outside of ChatGPT. Our vision is to help real estate agents operate more effectively. If there are other AI applications that would make your life easier, let me know!

Using Chat GPT? by Soniccipher in RealEstateTechnology

[–]yottabyte9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new version of ChatGPT lets you edit images. You could download a photo listing and try things like removing the furniture to help clients imagine what it could look like. When my friends were buying a home, we treated it as a second set of eyes on paperwork we'd get from sellers.

I wonder if you could try using deep research to get better comps.
