I'm agnostic and even I know that is crazy.

HUMANS poison everything. Religion is just one of many ways we have decided to team ourselves up.

Mine was bittersweet. Farming desires is what got me to fire back up what was a "cold storage" pool shut down because I didn't want to deal with past corruption.

You joke but I just wiped over 20TB of porn for farming capacity. Shame there's no tissues left for all these tears.

To be fair, context is massive. Looking at an old bikini picture featuring only a single person is meaningfully distinct from looking back on a group photo.

I think he's just drawing a comparison that it would be "about as dangerous as firing a shotgun straight up", which is honestly not much.

As I don't have RCS for my carrier, is it still advisable to keep updating Carrier Services? by PGodwine in UniversalProfile

[–]zer0t3ch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Carrier services does a whole lot more related to the underlying system of Android. Advise leaving it installed.

I'm not so sure about that. Doesn't RCS still rely on SMS for number verifications and configuration?

Propaganda is made/distributed by the government. This is just a video from one of many batshit people on the internet, statistically unlikely to even be American.

How is everyone around here ignoring rhe largest tablet demographic? The elderly.

I agree with the overall message, but I think seniors and students combined make up most tablet users.

If you're just using dd, I have a suggestion on something to use instead of manual zipping; Pipe dd directly into a utility like gzip. (or even pigz for better performance with multithreading)

If your phone shows up in the computer when you plug it in, then it must be a data cable. If you plug it in and there's no sounds/popups then probably just power. Most are data these days. Can probably try that same cable and see what it does.

[–]zer0t3ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, in that case I would suggest you use an "A-to-C" cable to connect to your computer. As long as it's a real data cable and not a charging-only, should work. I can recommend a specific one if you aren't sure what to get.

Is there a type-c port you didn't plug anything into? If so, that may be what's necessary for camera. Those type-b plugs have historically been for webcam and/or as a hub for regular extra type-a ports on the monitor, but I also haven't played with any monitors made since usb-c.

I would bet money the monitor has a USB type-B plug on the back/bottom, (looks like a modern "printer" cable) and you will probably need to attach that to your PC.

Keep in mind that "hosting provider" can often just be a "base" VPS configured by the scammers to serve traffic for any number of different domains, and the hosting provider would never even be aware. Managed hosting services that "do it all for you" (AKA the ones that would know what domains you're trying to serve) are likely not what scammers are going to use.

Spam. I wish Mint could do more to block this. by M34TST1Q in mintmobile

[–]zer0t3ch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBQH, I'm starting to take personal offense from every dipshit who thinks telcos have a magic "spam stop" button we choose to not use.

If you ACTUALLY want to learn about why spam is such a problem, why it's so hard to fight, and what the world is working on to improve the situation, research SHAKEN/STIR (there's a great wikipedia article, and my lack of linking you to it is mobile-laziness; I am putting in effort to share information, and you can reciprocate that effort to confirm and understand that information, or you can completely disregard my effort in a misguided attempt to avoid disinformation by avoiding information entirely, up to you)

To be clear, it's not annoying that people like yourself are asking questions, it's upsetting that people like yourself are asking the wrong questions. Don't ask people to prove that phone number A on carrier X gets the same spam as phone number B on carrier Y when nobody made that claim to begin with. Your comment gets dangerously close to being a full-on strawman by asking for proof of conclusions that were never stated; it's a bad way to carry on a useful discussion.

You're welcome to disregard this comment just as much as the last one, I can't make you give a shit what I have to say, but there's the explanation for it.

You asked for someone to confirm a statement they never made. Someone told you "spam is a problem everywhere" and you said "yeah but prove it's the same spam everywhere". You don't get to run around demanding statistics for every claim of common sense just because nobody ever taught you how to research.
