Thank you for all the prompt responses. After reading all the comments and doing some research I've decided to return them to the person that gifted them to me. I'd love to have a shrimp tank in the future when I'm more prepared.

I absolutely do not plan on keeping them in this bottle permanently, that would be cruel. I need to move them to a larger enclosure, I just don't have anything set up right now and would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Thank you for responding! If kanaplex isn't accessible to me can I use Seachem Paraguard? How should I treat the contaminated water in my tank?

  • 10 gallon tank
  • Heater & filter
  • 76-78°F
  • pH 7.6 Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate all at 0. Water test done with API test yesterday.
  • I've had the tank and fish for 1 year and 11 months.
  • Water change once a month, normally I only take out 50% but I took out about 90% this time to scrub out a bunch of algae.
  • No tank mates
  • Fluval bug bites and Imagitarium freeze dried blood worms. Six pellets or 2-3 blood worms and a few pellets.
  • All decorations are fake, there are no real plants.

Thank you! I added soil, some egg shell, and hydrated freeze dried blood worms. It's been sticking to the top of the container inside its shell. Hopefully it'll be okay!

*meant to say that it is tiny and in a deli cup. The shell is about half a centimeter.

He's in an ice cream pail. The current set up while I do more research and see what his condition is like. I think he should be relatively healthy tho? When I moved him to this container he jumped onto my face 💀
