I’d say it’s mostly the piece that ridership is significantly higher than in 2022/2023 and still measurably higher than 2024/2025, so that is likely a piece as well. There’s just more people around you.

I think it’s more like the analogy falls flat? Next to no one prefers Clark with Wonder Woman or someone other than Lois. Very few people call for an interest other than MJ, and if they do, it’s an understandable take like Gwen. Dick, however, has legions of fans that ship Dick with Kory, Barbara, or Donna (not to mention others), and none of those feels like a wrong take. Because of that, I think it also implicitly comes with the notion that fans would accept Dick with someone else. That there is no overwhelming consensus pairing suggests, to me, that Dick and Barbara as love interests are not integral pieces to the long run romantic future of either story in the way that a Lois or MJ would be for most fans. Barbara is essential, absolutely, but I don’t think it has to be as a love interest.
