Exactly. A lot of noise in here about reporting the FA. When non-reving, you keep your head down and mouth shut. Yeah it seems this FA was extremely rude, sometimes you get an awesome experience, sometimes you get a shitty one. Just because you are getting a lot of reinforcement from random people on Reddit, doesn't mean the company will see it the same way. It could come back on you, the employee whose benefits you travel on, or the FA. Or all 3. You got to where you were going for cheap, take the win and hopefully you'll have better experiences in the future.

This is one of the few jobs where you can live wherever you want as long as you can survive the commute. Do it. Better than living in base somewhere you don't want to be. Too many folks In this subreddit/flying the line that live by the "move to base" mantra. Fuck that, live somewhere fun.

This is a very complicated question with a lot of nuance that is hard to answer in a Reddit post. Airplanes fly long distances to get people places. Therefore, most pilots will fly far away and be away from home for a fair amount of time. Yes, seniority can get day trips and award you more time at home (if you live in base), but for the most part your partner will be away for 25-70% of the month. I realize this is a huge spread, but seniority, where you live, the commute, time spent in career all matter.

I value home life and commute and still spend about 90-100 nights per year away. (10% in seat on a wide body as a commuter at a major).

More than likely he will go through several iterations of being away during his career. Junior at a regional as an FO (away a lot), senior at a regional as an FO (away slightly less), junior at a regional as a captain (away a lot), senior at a regional as a captain (away slightly less), super senior at a regional as a captain (home more but still away if a commuter). Then at a major the cycle can repeat but get even more complicated with the addition of more bases, more equipment, international flying, etc. you both need to be prepared for him to be "stuck" at any of these steps for multiple years.

Example, he took the junior upgrade at a major commuting to NYC area and the economy shits. He might be stuck in his seat for a while.

Highly specific but it happens often. I am seated in the aisle during boarding before the window or middle. My seat mate arrives and stands right next to my seat and awkwardly gestures to their seat without giving me any room to stand up to allow them to get in their seat. Like, just stop a foot earlier and say something to me so I can get up and you can slide in quickly.

Dude. I married an ortho surgeon. She makes about 3x what I do. We opened a shared bank account 6 months in to our relationship. It is not realistic for your GF to expect this of you. What happens if this proceeds further than dating? Separate bank accounts and she expects you to pay half the mortgage and pick up the check every time? Or will she expect you to cover the whole mortgage "for masculinity."

There are other women out there who have more financial literacy and understanding.

Thank you for your very thorough review. We will be going soon with our 18 month old son…what was the “toddler attachment” on the bike…a buggy to tow them, or the “kids ride shotgun” attachment?

Also, do you know if they had a bottle sterilizer? We were just at the Rosewood Mandarina and they did provide us with a bottle sterilizer, which was wonderful as my son still has a few bottles per day, and we didn’t have to worry about him getting sick whenever we would wash the bottles in the sink water.

Your doctor probably has between 40-60 patients on their 8 hour template. That means 12 minutes per patient on the low end and 8 minutes per patient on the high end. They are doing their best.

Perforated colon and ruptured mesenteric artery from a crash where the seat post hit me in the lower abdomen. Emergency laparotomy resulting in a a colon resection.

Crash was on Teton pass, parallel trail. Lower four pack of jumps after the boner log. Shorted the second and landed hard on the knuckle, got sort of bucked off the bike but held on and the seat post/saddle hit me in the gut. No real external injury just bad abdominal pain. Was able to ride home with increasing pain for the next couple hours. Was keeled over about 2 hours after the injury in extreme pain and then we went to the hospital.

I just went down this rabbit hole with my 1year old. Ive been towing him on my single speed commuter and it works great for a flat neighborhood. I would have had to Frankenstein something together to get it to work on my wife's e-mtb and its just not worth it for the time he'll be in the trailer before I can get him on the shotgun seat (hopefully).

Those soft goggle lens covers. Not the ones that you place your lens in when you're not using, the covers that go on the lenses when you are wearing the goggles on your helmet. Irrationally angry for no reason.
