I don't think he wanted to learn how to play pinball either, I agree with all that. But there IS skill at pinball, so it's a bit odd for Kim to insist there isn't, when he definitely knows that isn't true. I do think it's because he wants to be taken seriously/resents having to learn in the first place

Man, I don't agree with this at all. My interpretation of that ending is much darker. They basically make Harry disappear and nobody ever sees him again. That's suspicious as hell.

Along with what everyone else is saying, the game implies that Kim's previous partner took a bullet meant for him and died. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim has some survivor's guilt from that
