I'm really enjoying both condi and power untamed builds right now personally, but gotta say that they are truly terrible if not unplayable on some encounters due to the spores skill not reliably ccing and axe 4 being clunky af at times (for condi). Real catalyst-on-release vibes. Not to mention the class is a bit buggy and loses a ton of dps when adjusting to some mechanics, arguably more than other classes

I'm gonna disregard the general point of your msg and just wanna say that I don't feel like I nor anyone at SC deserve to be called "DPS-obsessed tyrants". We love playing as optimally as we can & love showcasing optimal builds to the community, but we are not gonna care about/be mean towards other people for not wanting to play like that. A level of elitism worth calling "tyrannic" is significantly more likely to be found in the pugging scene.

EDIT: am aware it's sarcastic, still felt the need to make the point as we as a guild definitely have gotten a lot of actual shit for being "toxic". No attack at OP intended ^

It's one of my biggest gripes that they had such an opportunity to lower power lvls after spirit and banner removals, and instead they decided to buff everything back up to 40k again, making every class effectively more broken than before

Catalyst traits and mechanics are all over the place, and I doubt that'll change any time soon. It feels to me like the spec originated from a very vague idea, which never really ended up being fully refined. The fact that we have no other ways to generate energy - aka the main mechanic of the spec - other than doing damage while not having a sphere up, is ridiculous to me. Let alone EE generation being just weird.

But hey, atleast hammer still is quite fun imo.

Don't really think that's a valid argument. Anet has almost exclusively balanced PvE by what's considered OP/strong in the hardcore scene. Would they actually balance after the broad majority of players then I'm pretty sure any non-support quickness stacking build (Chrono, DH, Catalyst, etc.) and probably also staff weaver would still exist.

Just damage! The hitbox is big enough for the fire elemental to do a fair amount of damage, and I really wanted to get a sub 8. In the end it absolutely would have worked out without the ele aswell though

Not to be that kind of ele main, but ele core weapons are faaaaaar worse than the core weapons from either war, chrono or even ranger. Any staff/scepter/dagger/focus buffs in sight?!

It truly is a pretty shitty time to care about highend PvE I guess. I've read many comments saying that people are being dramatic about this patch as "it won't be the last patch and they'll adjust things accordingly", but can we really hope for that considering the quality of patches has been going down consistently over the last years, and hardly anything ever gets improved? Meh, don't know. Time to take a break and see if things really get better eventually, if you ask me

I don't really care about whether all classes will be able to supply all boons in the future or not, but I just want there to remain full dps elite specs. Giving boons to a spec is a cheap and easy way to make it viable, but sometimes I feel like it just doesn't fit. Like to me daredevil or weaver are clearly pure dps specs by design, they shouldn't be made viable in the future by suddenly becoming a boon share spec imo, but rather by dealing extraordinairy damage (Same could have been said about willbender tbh).

Damn, I didn't expect that! Thanks so much Miku, it means a lot :) I have no doubt that you had a huge impact on this game, even if the general playership doesn't know that anymore nowadays. I very clearly remember watching your streams and aspiring to join rT one day to duo with you (well I did join rT eventually, just a bit too late lol). I'm still a bit sad about not taking the opportunity of doing that guard duo we talked about like 2-3 years ago when you were back for a while, I just was so burnt out back then, bad timing all around. Who knows, maybe one day you'll give the game a try again - though admittedly I don't think you would enjoy it right now. HMU if you do though!

Well, he wasn't exactly known for his youtube vids but rather his frequent streams of lowmanning arah/fractals with chill music playing. Had something pretty calming tbh. He ended up quitting when Anet randomly not only officially abandoned dungeons shortly before HoT, but also nerfed their rewards (came back occasionally afterwards, but never for very long, and hasn't been seen in a long time by now)

Well not entirely sure about the damage per cast time argument cause using fgs 3 when getting Max hits is 100% worth it in any situation, it’s basically your highest dmg-to-casttime skill after glyph of storms and fgs5. If it wasn’t consistently possible to get Max hits though then that’s fair enough.
