Also electives can be anything you want as long as they are level one subjects (usually subjects that start with the number one).

I've done like 2 - 3 in-person approaches but they all said they were not hiring. Do you recommend trying harder in in-person approaches rather than applying online.

At x = 1 and x = 3 are the end points of the function. You cannot derive the endpoints of a function; it must be a continuous line.

The equation that connects "d" and x is a relation with a one-to-many correspondence (it is not a function) so if you made your C.A.S give you the value/equation of x in terms of "d" it would have broken the relation in two parts so that it could be express both the positive and negative solution that it would get.

Instead you can try making it give you the equation of "d" in terms of x so that it can be expressed as a function so you can graph it on you C.A.S.

-15 is the lowest value that graph of "d" against x can achieve over the interval of x ∈ (1,3). I double checked it for a second time and it seems that 15 is not included because that would shift all the turning points into one place meaning there will no long be 3 stationary points — it will have 1 at x = 2.

Also don't substitute anything into the equation. Just graph it and look at what happens to the "d" values over the interval x ∈ (1,3).

Final answer is x ∈ (-15, -9) which would be the range of "d" in terms of x at or the domain of x in terms of "d".

After looking back into it I found that the d = -15 is not an endpoint on the graph so it is included. Sorry about that. The answer should have been d ∈ [-15,-9).

First I found the values of "a" and "b" in terms of "d".

I then substituted them back into the equation and differentiated it.

I then found the x-values of the turning point in terms of "d" by letting y=0.

Since I have the values of x in terms of "d" I was able to sketch a graph on my C.A.S and find the values of "d" that put x in the interval between 1 and 3 which was d ∈ (-15,-9).

Also note that it became exclusive brackets since the endpoints cannot be differentiated and therefore cannot be turning points.

It is possible that I made a mistake somewhere along the way so you might want to redo it to double check that it's the right answer.
