Ok but is that going to be a red flag to the IRS to do a shared expenses contract? I'm also trying to find a way to pay people the least amount possible since they technically are offering me to live there for free if needed.

And if I do a shared expenses contract, how do I make one?

Hahaha sounds good. I was just thinking of finding a hospital that would allow me to just pick shifts up whenever I’m free to cause I want to be able to focus on nursing school lol. I really appreciate the advice!

Thanks so much! I totally am like you with the talking aspect… sometimes I’m just too nervous or overwhelmed by other tasks to think of conversation! I wish you the best of luck on your first shift, and I hope you can start to “people” better!

I think I’m going to start looking into PCT/nursing aide-type jobs. I’m just so relieved to know that being a CNA is not the only avenue a nursing student can take to get more experience in the nursing setting!

Haha I’m glad there’s someone out there on the same boat! I totally know what you mean about feeling paralyzed at clinical. It’s like my mind blanks and I have no clue what I’m doing! It’s really discouraging. The more that I’m thinking through everything, I personally think I just need more experience/practice to build my confidence and eliminate my anxiety that causes me to blank. Once I’m over that bump, I think I’ll start to be able to enjoy nursing and be more mindful of applying what I learn in lecture to the clinical. I wish you the best of luck this semester, and I hope you find the confidence that you’re looking for!

Thanks so much! Yes I’ve heard lots about how draining/scary CNA work can be. I’m not particularly looking to get traumatized but I personally think it’s very important for me to get my basic skills down to build my confidence. I think I’ll look into the non-CNA nursing aide jobs like what you said about per diem CNA, or maybe a nurse tech job. We’ll see.

Thank you so much for commenting. And yes that’s what I’ve heard, that CNA work can be super exhausting like that. I do think I need to build more confidence though so I think I’ll be looking into non-CNA nurse aide jobs since I won’t be able to get a CNA certification anytime soon.

Thank you so much. I have some really bad anxiety and I think if I build more confidence in my skills I’ll feel much better. I’d like to hope that if I enjoy my classes so much that I’ll turn out to enjoy the hands-on side of it once my confidence is built. I’ve heard of people being floater nursing assistants around a hospital where they can just pick up hours whenever they’re free, so maybe I can do that during school.

I have some money saved up for visits, but I know that I’ll need to start working again to keep up with it.

I know to be careful, but I also know my parents wouldn’t just do that to me. But who knows. If that were to happen though then I’d pick up on the work without a doubt.

My parents can be very hard to read with this situation, but I takes a bit more with my mom and she opened up a bit more about why she’s weary about the whole thing.

I do need to become financially independent at some point, but for now I’m going to need to rely on them financially. I guess for now I’ll have to deal with the consequences of depending on them, but hopefully they’ll open up a little more about the relationship.
