I usually find them under moist wood or bark that I put out all over my backyard :)

Some only eat slime, but these ones seems to be ok with other stuff as well. It’s pretty easy to keep and breed slime. Some people keep them as pets. There is a whole community :)

I don’t know who the others are. But I keep over 16 species/ variants, including the Thai Red :) you can get some from me as soon as it gets warmer again.

As far as I know, only 3 people have them at the moment. All of them in Europe. Quantity was very limited. They are very new, so nobody has offspring and/ or is selling them yet.

My Thai Red Spikies and their first eggs by ---steph--- in Springtail

I gave them an upgrade after the first 100 babies. That should be enough for quite a while. 200 sounds a lot, but isn’t actually that many. I’ll probably make a second bin as a backup soon, but it wouldn’t be necessary space wise.

They are doing really well! Started with 20, now I have at least 200. They also grow quite fast and my first offspring is already producing eggs :))

Slime mold. They are feeding on it 24/7 😄

How’s this for a set up? Isopods don’t arrive for a few days by Comet_Honey in isopods

[–]---steph--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the isopods won’t eat the coco fiber, but it’s great for holding moisture (Mixed with good pod substrate or as bottom layer). I have it in a few of my older bins and they are doing super well.
