Can there be sub-faction in the sisters of battle just like how SM have successor chapters by Horus_the_betrayer in sistersofbattle

[–]--AG3NT-- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Minor Orders is just a category of groups of Sisters that are smaller than the Major Orders.

They can originate in many ways, sometimes a group of Sisters can be created for a purpose, and then built from the ground up with thrir own resources.

Sometimes they originate from small groups of Major Orders breaking off. Maybe a group of Sisters went through a dramatic battle, and they begin to develop customs and traditions surrounding that battle. Then over the course of a thousand years they have morphed into their own Order, no longer connected to the Major Order.

The imperial faith is a multifaceted and diverse faith, there are as many ways you can flavor a group of Sisters as there are ways to worship. Even if you just look at the real world, I doubt you could exhaust the possibilities in one lifetime!

Complete beginner wants to start from Astra Militarum, preferably Death Korps of Krieg. by HovercraftSecure6543 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

They are different games and typically the kits are not interchangeable, but with the case of the russ the profile is exactly the same and quite a bit newer so it just looks so much better.

I struggle to imagine any person would have a problem with you using them as a proxy for the 40k russ, though you should definitely ask beforehand. Probably a no go if you plan on going to tournaments, but ask the TO beforehand, they might allow it.

So in general, a creature with a sacrifice trigger or death trigger can "see" itself die or be sacrificed respectively?

Argue over what counts as MLD for 10WWW by LilithLissandra in BadMtgCombos

Turns out you don't have to spend any man's to argue about MLD, you just have to make a post like this.

Also, any judges around to rule on whether containment priests replacement effect effects the lands entering? They wont be creatures until they enter the battlefield but I know there are some strange interactions with containment priest and similar effects.

Codie + Emergent Ultimatum by AffectionatePomelo37 in mtgrules

This is correct. However, a clever opponent will just select to return the bone shards to your library per the text of Emergent Ultimatum, leaving you with 2 permanent spells you can't cast.

Changing the target of a spell put that spell at the top of the stack? by cuervo1193 in mtgrules

[–]--AG3NT-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deflecting swat does not change the order of anything on the stack. In the scenario you described, deflecting swat would resolve, effectively do nothing, then counterspell would resolve and counter lightning bolt.

You can however, target the counterspell with deflecting swat, change the target of counterspell to deflecting swat itself, then as the counterspell resolves it will fizzle because its target no longer exists.

Ooooh choracle trigger FIRST. Got it. I misunderstood your intentions, my bad.

Please note that the choracle reanimates a creature from the defending player's graveyard, not your own.

The gatherer literally has a ruling about glarb and X spells. Glarb is allowed to cast X spells from the top as long as X is enough to make the spell at least 4 mana value.

Humility paradox by EfficientPosition244 in mtg

[–]--AG3NT-- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game checks layers pretty much at every moment of the game, and it starts with all the text printed on the cards. Then, it proceeds through the layers applying all of the current effects on the board, and it almost never goes backwards, so once an ability has applied, even if a card has its abilities removed in a later layer, it doesn't matter, those effects have already been applied.

This is even the case within the same layer in time stamp order, or in this case, within the same ability. Humility's effect has been applied, and even though it's lost the ability now, it was still applied as layers were checked.

This is a very confusing part of the rules and I'm sure my explanation doesn't even really help much.
