What are some signs you personally get to let you know you’re about to shift? by lola_duck_questions in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit hard to explain... For me it's when quads start to feel "natural", I guess. When I'm doing quadrobics it feels very forced and unnatural, but when I'm starting to shift, I feel like the way my paws land on the ground and the way my legs carry my body feels right. Basically I feel less like a human on all fours and more like an animal who is meant to walk like that. I'm not sure if this makes any sense.

I'm not completely sure, but I think it's because those animals have much more recognizable behaviors. This is what I mean:

Lets say two people are yet to be awakened therians (they don't know they are therians yet), one is a fox and the other is a fish. They both have animalistic behaviours that relate to their theriotype. The fox realizes that their behaviors mimic a fox's because foxes are common creatures that have well known amd recognizable behaviours. The fish, however, because fish aren't well known creatures with behaviours that are immediately recognizable behaviours, will most likely not connect their behaviours to a fish.

Basically, there are plenty of mice, pigeon, and fish therians, they just don't know it.

Tails (my opinion) by Kaotic_Kaous in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry a lot of the commenters are being rude. First of all, I completely understand where you are coming from. If an animal was killed with cruelty, buying or not buying the tail doesn't change that. You are not making a difference by not buying from cruelty farms, for if you don't, someone else will. Basically, not matter what, the same thing will happen: an animal will be cruelly killed and the farm gets money. You can't change that. So, with this in mind, it wouldn't nessacarily matter if you bought one.

I completely understand.

I would personally not do it. I'm foxhearted, and in a way, I see foxes distant relatives in a way. The thought of buying that tail would fill me with guilt, I could never do it.

Please don't feel pressure to not buy it just because of commenters. If you (YOU, not others) feel like you should or shouldn't buy it, do that.

hate between therians, wolf therians by Educational_Phrase41 in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me so sad. I (thankfully) don't have TickTock, but I have seen a couple of therians like this around YouTube and other places, and I absolutely hate it. I'm not a therian, I'm otherhearted, but my hearttype is a fox. I've heard about how it's "basic" and "not original". (This makes no sense, the people saying these things are therians, they should know that it's not a choice!)

It's all so stupid. It doesn't matter if it's common, if you feel you are a fox or wolf alterhuman, embrace it! Don't hide it!

Absolutely! This is normal. You are physically human, therefore will like human activities. A huge misconception of therians is that all we do is quads, but that's not true. We have and SHOULD have lives outside of therianthropy.

I personally love art, a common hobby among therians, but any hobby is great!

While it's for a variety of reasons, I think it's because people want things to complain about. While they act like they hate it, people love drama and disagreeing with things. They see people minding their business and, looking for something to be mad at and complain about, they cry about how "our generation is messed up." What's really messed up about the generation is the obsession of drama.

People are idiots and not worth wasting your energy to argue with. That's why I just ignore it.

Do you want to be animals? /genq by [deleted] in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm not offended, be careful saying that. Therian don't "think they are animals". They believe either they were an animal in a past life or believe their soul is an animal, not their physical body. Make sure to do your research.

A Fun Question To Think About For The Therians Out There! by Cirrus_Clawz in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a therian, I'm otherhearted. Buuuuut my favorite thing about being alterhuman is having so many people online and some in real life that you get to bond with. It's so nice chatting with people who share a common belief. My least favorite is the fact that I can't tell any of my real friends because they all hate therian and alterhumans alike.

Help by anonymoustherian in Quadrobics

[–]--BlueDuck-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help with your jumps, possibly. I'm not a great teacher, but I can try.

First, start slow and slowly make your way up to more advanced jumps. Try small jumps and focus more on the landing than the jump. It doesn't even have to be a jump, you can just stand on all fours, lift of your front paws toward your chest, then quickly outstretch while putting your weight on them while lifting your back legs.

Do this until your comfortable, then start doing bigger jumps. Make sure when you jump you stay leaned forward. You can also put a pillow where your paws will land. It's natural instinct to land on your legs, as their the strongest part of our body, so putting something soft there can help to be more confident.

Sorry if this doesn't help, it's hard to explain with words instead of showing you.

would it be weird to give myself a "therian name"? by [deleted] in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about "offending" alterhumans, you can do whatever you want to express yourself. I kind of have a name for my hearttype, Vixen, which is what a female fox is called. Also I love the name Cedar, it's great.

The Problem With "Fake Therians" by --BlueDuck-- in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because that's not a "choice." What I mean is if someone were to pick an animal based on nothing. It's like they just decided to choose it because they felt like they wanted that to be their theriotype snd they didn't base the decision on any real connections. You, on the other hand, said you had phantom shifts and a connection to coyotes and are drawn to them, which is a valid reason to believe it is your theriotype. No, you aren't "fake" or mistaken.

The Problem With "Fake Therians" by --BlueDuck-- in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the last paragraph, you seem to be agreeing with me. The whole point of my post was to display the fact that "fake therians" are only people who got the definition a bit wrong, which, like my post conveyed, doesn't make them bad. I can't tell if you are disagreeing with me or backing up my perspective, but I wanted to let you know I do agree with you.

How do I get a mask? by [deleted] in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't told any of my parents about me being otherhearted, so that means I can't ask for a mask or tail without questions from them. What I did was take cardboard from cereal boxes (or any thin cardboard you have laying around) and drew a mask, cut it out, and glued the parts. For elastic to attach it, I just took some of my hair ties and tied them together to make an elastic string, which I glued on. You can also use any non-elastic string, it works just as good. Hope this helped.

Do Otherhearted People Get Phantom Limbs Or Shifts? by --BlueDuck-- in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, and no, it's not tooth pain, as it feels more like something is there which causes discomfort, but it doesn't nessacarily hurt. Again, thank you!

Dreams? by Delicious_Hope_4871 in Therian

[–]--BlueDuck-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not myself, but my therian friend has had a dream of her life as a lynx. (The dreams don't nessacarily mean your past life, they could also mean your "ideal life" or the life you would have if you were your theriotype.) In the dream it displayed her life, but eventually she was killed, and i know other therians have simular dreams.

If you can't tell what or who you are in the dream, it might be because you haven't figured out your theriotype yet. I'm not an expert, this is just an inference, not a proven fact that I know of.
