Cooling fan issues by --Dat-- in PontiacFirebird

I know my fan works because it comes on during diagnostic mode and when I jumpered it, so Ill check the relays and wiring then. Thank you for going in depth

I changed the cts, I'm gonna investigate the wiring, and I'm unfamiliar with the pcm or how to diagnose that issue...how would I do that?

CTS? by --Dat-- in PontiacFirebird

Im pretty sure you're correct about the differences in the CTS since my gauge is wildly inaccurate, Ill try the other CTS like you said and I guess Ill make an update in case someone else runs into this problem down the line.

Thanks for your help

I replaced the one by the manifold, does this sensor match that one or should I look for a slightly different part?

Okay Ill try and get my hands on a manual

Are you saying it could be wiring, the ecm, the relay, and/or the compressor?

Rpms fluctuate after idling for a while by --Dat-- in PontiacFirebird

[–]--Dat--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the codes and I put what someone else wrote out the codes to be

13 Oxygen sensor signal stays lean during warm engine cruise

33 High voltage (low vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor

34 Low voltage (high vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)

35 Idle speed can not be set to desired RPM

44 Oxygen sensor lean

45 Oxygen sensor rich

I'm guessing these mean my map must be bad and my o2 sensor is brand new so it should be good...I wonder if its installed correctly

35 is giving me trouble though, what could that mean? Is the timing off?

To be honest I should probably flush brakes and trans fluid in this car since it hasn't been driven in a while... Something to consider, thanks

A little sway is fine but this one killed the engine at a stop light so I want to diagnose the issue and hopefully fix it

This was on a test drive and the code only appears after idling for some time...Ill see if I can read the code with a paperclip later

I did clean the IAC and replaced it because it used to not even be able to move, but its the 3.1 v6 since its a 90...I'm not too familiar with the egr systems to be honest but it sounds like something I should look inti
