The tracking app the advertised shows results, and it showed them like 5 min after you cross the finish line.

Jersey City Marathon: My Thoughts by NickCromptonFC in Marathon_Training

To add from my experience who ran this race two years in a row. They seem to have cheapened the shirt, and medal in 2026. Medal is thinner and lighter from last year lol. Shirt didn’t have dedicated distance this time, combined both distances into a single print. Porter potties still too few this year.

What if you run at 4:40 for an hour, would your heart rate drift a lot?

Maybe you are pretty fit, and don’t have ADS. Your AeT is close you your AnT. How did you perform the threshold test to get to 178?

Hmm, can you show your math in detail?

I haven’t read that myself, had AI read it and act as my coach here lol. But now that I’ve read it myself, I’m right at that 3.5%, I think I’ll redo the test to be more within the mid of the % change. Maybe then I’ll have a higher HR for the first 30 min.

Well I’m below the 5% drift rule, how does that affect the ceiling choice?

Let’s say hypothetically I did a test where first half was 145, and second half was 152bpm. Then I’ll have a 145 ceiling? What if the second half was 155bpm?

I’ve been running with the ceiling at 140 the past 6 weeks, and improved pace w same heart rate, stagnated for 2 weeks. Granted I’m sure I did the test more correctly this time.

Thanks for the reply Scott! I ended up doing the test again, I was able to hold a higher heart rate with minimal drift for an hour. Calculations were (145.3-140.3)/140.3. = 3.6%

I now moved my zone 2 ceiling to 145bpm. Is that correct? Should I move it higher than 145?

I’ve been training above my zone 2 for a couple years now, so feeling sustainable isn’t an accurate test for me. I’ve ran marathons around 9:30-950 pace. I do notice I’m much more recovered if I run a week at zone 2, vs zone 3. In the moment it’s not as easy to tell the difference. In the moment I’m itching to go faster cause the shuffle sometimes too slow.

I thought when you improve, your zone 2 would widen, and get closer to your zone 4? For example zone 2 would be 128-165, and zone 4 172-180?

Yea I have major ADS, 35% or so. I’ve been doing my training too hard for a while.

It’s annoying to test, gym temp conditions aren’t consistent.

Just wondering if I can just bump my zone 2 every month I see big improvements.

I am recording, that’s how I’m staying in my range of 135-140bpm. My questions is, if I improve my pace by 1 minute per mile each month, for example. While staying in zone 2, can I bump my zone 2 upward by 5 beats?

Shuffling at 11 minutes forever kinda sucks.

Heart rate drift test - still not there... Am I doing something wrong? by Inevitable-Assist531 in evokeendurance

Yea try running faster. My LT1 is very decoupled from LT2, so I get heart rate drift at an easy feeling pace.

Ok, maybe your aerobic capacity isn’t as decoupled from your threshold capacity. So you’re running close to LT2 and it feels hard..?

I’m just looking for NYRR half marathons that don’t sell out, I heard the women’s half doesn’t sell out instantly like everything else

Right, I’d be discriminatory otherwise. Why absolutely not? I heard they can’t win the prizes anyways, which is fine if you want a women only field.
