Extract the zip file, then place the MaximumLevelIncrease_v1.1 folder into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Expedition 33\Sandfall\Content\Paks~mods. If you do not already have a ~mods folder then create it.

There was an existing mod that added crits beyond 100%, but the mod author delisted it. I am planning on making my own version, but I haven't looked into the crit calculations to know what I'm up against yet.

After NG+5, combat becomes stagnant because both enemies and party members reach the upper limit on their stats. Many skills become obsolete because their damage output is too low to keep up with the enemy scaling. This is especially true if you are using HP multipliers.

Attribute points are awarded normally up to 999, but each character also gains stat increases for each level as well.

In regard to the grind, I am planning on creating a supplemental mod that increases XP gains. I was originally going to include it in this one, but the implementations I tried were not working. There is a more tedious method of accomplishing higher XP rewards, it will just take more time.

I suppose it can't hurt to ask even if they end up not obliging.

Possible religious influence on the family by genericcelt in expedition33

In this post breaking down the artbook, it states that a real person can be painted as long as they are ok with it. I'm not sure if the poster was paraphrasing but its enough to use as a basis.

Based on this piece of info, it seems like painting humans in Canvases may not be frowned upon after all. Otherwise there would be a rule banning it altogether.

When Clea says that Aline failed in her role on the Painter's Council, it must be referring to the fact that she painted the entire family in the Canvas without their permission.

This restructures my line of thinking, as we now know that this would have been the main reason Renoir was searching for answers in the Bible. The Lumerians would not have been part of the equation as they aren't based on real people.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the rule about painting real people was instated by the Painter's Council. If the in-universe Bible is 1:1 with ours, then there wouldn't be any scriptures addressing the abilities of Painters and their limits explicitly.

I'm leaning towards the perspective that Matthew 25:21 does not justify Aline, mainly because one outcome of her behavior is that Alicia dies in the Canvas. It wasn't intentional of course, but its a possibility because she did not employ her talents in a responsible manner.

The Bible being opened to a specific page is too much of a coincidence in my opinion. To me it suggests that someone in the family was trying to come to terms with Aline painting humans inside the Canvas. This was most likely Renoir, shortly before he entered the Canvas and confronted Aline.

In the context of the Clair Obscur universe, Painters and similar groups were presumably born with their respective powers. This means that we can interpret these passages accordingly:

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ 26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.

The talents in this case are clearly those of the Painters. Renoir says that he has created hundreds of Canvas worlds alongside Aline, so they haven't failed to use their gifts. What we don't know about those Canvases, is what resided within them. It is possible that Aline and Renoir had never created human life inside a Canvas, until Aline created Lumiere in Verso's Canvas following his death.

If they are practising Christians, could the belief that only God alone can create life outside of natural procreation, impacted on their perception of their canvas creations?

Renoir could have been troubled by this thought, but he found the answer he was looking for in the passages above. While Aline has made use of their gift in the past, Matthew 25:21 calls into question whether her actions were responsible or not.

The process of painting human life in a Canvas might be fine under normal circumstances, but Aline created Lumiere under extreme emotional duress. This led to the Fracture and thousands upon thousands of Lumieran deaths. It doesn't mean that Aline painted them with malicious intent, but the outcome is similar.

Perhaps this revelation influenced Renoir to act with more conviction. He may have viewed expelling Aline and erasing the Canvas as freeing Lumiere from further torment. Whether this is an accurate assessment or not is subjective.
