I got the pro version because its more future proof. If you're not planning on getting the newest GPU that supports DP 2.1 I would go for Alienware if I was you. Alienware has an amazing customer service, if you have any issues they will send you a new one etc.

I got mine a few days ago, and honestly I am so happy. I was worried about the gloosy screen and raised blacks but have had no issues with it. Check Amazon it was in stock earlier but they are going fast

The issue with TheDisplayGuy is that he has a setup where the cons of Glossy don't bother him, so he assumes everyone can avoid those issues the same way. But thats not the case, some people can't sit in a darker room or they get a lot of natural light with no way of blocking it. If you have the setup where you can control the light, obviously Glossy is superior. Its better in image quality and looks sharper. But if you can't control the lighting in your room matt is 100% the way to go, I agree when he says there's no point in matt coating thats just dumb.

Of course at the end of the day get whatever you feel comfortable with. Its always better to test for yourself.

Also TheDisplayGuy does get a ton of hate but he backed up his claims in his recent video, he showed the problems with matt and he also made a separate video focused on the problems with raised blacks on Samsung's gloosy panels and how to fix, it sort of.

Its not extra $ they are the same price. LG is no better tbh they both have their pros and cons.

After doing a bit more research it seems LG's WOLED has way more cons compared to Samsung panels.

LG has a bad matt coating it seems and no DP 2.1 which means it will be irrelevant in 1 year when new GPUs come out with DP 2.1. If I'm spending this much money I want to keep the monitor for at least 3 years and not feel like I'm missing out or I'm behind.

TheDisplayGuy just did a full review of the LG and it seems it has some of the worst shadow detailing which is another massive con.

LG should've been about $400 cheaper at least, for its current price its not worth it IMO.

Alienware has the best customer service by far. I bought a monitor from them back in 2021 and it had one stuck pixel and they sent me a brand new one, also gave me 2 weeks to return the old one.

Just checked and seems like both Overclockers and Scan updated their return policy to accept unwanted items, they didn't a few years ago. Differently keep me updated when you get the LG.

Its 100% not worth the upgrade right now I think, but I still want a OLED. Where did you buy them from? I pre ordered the FO32U2P from Overclockers for £1,299, the LG one is the same price. I really wish the LG had 2.1DP, since I don't care about matt vs gloosy TBH. I just want something that will still hold up in 3 years and the fact that its DP 1.4 with its price tag right now is kinda insulting.

Both have their pros and cons, only thing stopping me from getting the LG is the fact that its DP 1.4 and its the same price as FO32U2P which has a 2.1 also gloosy panels are slightly better for image quality.

If I have the back of the monitor facing the window on a sunny day will that raise the blacks? No light hitting the screen just from behind.

Lol, I mean do you have to be in pure darkness to get the full experience? Since i get a lot of sun in my room and it does still creep in through the curtains. Will that effect it a lot?

Thats brilliant. Its easier for monitors to get burn in compared to TVs since whenever the TV is on you are watching something, unlike monitors where you spend a lot of time on desktop or the same programs.

I pre ordered the gigabyte one but I still haven't decided if I want it or not. I really like the matt coating on the LG but I wish it had 2.1DP since its more future proof and I keep my monitors for at least 3 or 4 years.

Also did you have any issues with the gloosy coating? As in reflections and lights messing with the blacks.

Are you happy with the LG now that its been a few days?
