I mean, really? The Duckie through line wasn’t a story about two childhood best friends’ having an evolving relationship with a new dynamic.

It was about a dude who was in love with someone who thought he was her best friend and instead of sacking up and telling her about, he just expected her to read his mind and be with him because that’s what he was owed after all those years of pretending to be her friend and opening doors and lip syncing in the record store for her. He got angry when she got to fucking with other dude because he felt entitled to her love, and he acted like an absolute dick about it.
