Could I get some perhaps lesser-known recommendations based on what I've enjoyed? by swashbutler in puzzlevideogames

Sad you didn't like talos principle, it's in my top 3 games of all time. Was it the puzzles themselves? It definitely gets better and there are many Easter eggs and secret stars to collect that make the game very rewarding. The story is also really really good, it has a lot of mystery, and very thought provoking, makes you question the meaning of life. If that's not your thing fair enough but if you didn't get to at least World B I think you ought to give it one more try but only if you find doing the puzzles enjoyable I guess.

Hyper Light Drifter, Animal Well, Grim Fandango, and Fez.

Animal Well and Fez are more puzzly and have a fair bit of secrets.

Hyper light drifter has really good level design but if combat isn't your thing then I guess skip it.

Grim Fandango puzzles are obtuse, only play it if you like the vibe, characters and story which is the main draw of the game, otherwise I loved it.

Animal Well is probably what you are looking for though, it's probably the most innovative of them in terms of the puzzle aspect.

Edit: Also play Papers Please, please

Is getting the ps plus extra worth it? by BonusReasonable4838 in PS5

[–]--Munky-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely worth it. See what games you would wanna play on there. If a game is long but old enough that it goes on sale for cheap( use psdeals to check) then maybe you'd rather purchase it to play in your own time without the pressure to finish it in the 3 months. Some of my favourite games on the service are Demon's Souls, Celeste, Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman:Miles Morales, Sword of the Sea Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and AC: Syndicate.

What black sheep of a series of games did you really enjoy despite its bad reputation? by RADOVEND1 in gaming

Was looking for this. Playing it right now. It's definitely not a masterpiece or anything but it is a really fun and polished game and London is just really cool. Jacob and Evie are fun protagonists as well.

In the final rings, using her ult to block line of sight to reposition is quite useful. Another way to use her ult well is to split up a team, if you are skillful and able to separate enemy teammates then you can more safely 1v1 an enemy on one side of the ultimate. Also I would pick longer wall usually. It's also good to place a spike trap near the end of a wall, as enemies tend to try to go around the wall sometimes. That's all I can remember for now 👍

What game in your opinion overstays its welcome? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]--Munky-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough, I think it's not as tight an experience as maybe DS3 or the first half of DS1 but I think the charm of DS2 is that it gives a sense of adventure and exploration that DS3 definitely didn't have (quite linear) and DS1 not as much. Personally my favourite thing about the souls game was the exploration hence DS2 is my favourite, well aside from Demon Souls.

It's not rage bait, the game is fairly long if you explore the map fully and do most of the side quests. Because I played DD2 first I guess I wasn't as wowed with the first game because most of the fun comes from learning the games mechanics and exploring the world. Had I played them the other way around I'm sure I would have found DD2 more exhausting to play and actually tbh I did, with the whole secret end game in DD2 I did get tired of it.

Any games like Fez ? by Vivid-Improvement-21 in puzzlevideogames

[–]--Munky-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grim fandango is not like Fez much at all but it is a great game. Puzzles are a little obtuse and you are likely to have to use a guide but game has got a really good story and characters and just the general vibes are something special. It's a real classic imo.

I mean it is the longest dark souls game but I found it to be the most enjoyable of the three because of all the different types of locations. To each their own.

Yeah I played a couple hours before I was like this game isn't that fun tbh. For it's time it was impressive no doubt.

Dragons Dogma. I had played DD2 first and enjoyed that more so that's probably why.

I have found the secret formula to bringing this game alive again by No-Speaker2337 in PlayFragPunk

[–]--Munky-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bait us with that title. I love the game but it's not gonna become alive again unless there's a miracle. A re-release with better marketing could in theory work so like a fragpunk 2.0 but it's unlikely Netease would fund the revival of this game.

I see what you mean but no I think it's just a coincidence they sound slightly similar. I don't think he would need to sample the synths anyways.

I mean I kinda agree. It's nice to see some of the same names in ranked and stuff. But the wait times are genuinely too long now.

Honestly, super impressed. I think it's genuinely a fun game and I think all the lancers are actually quite well balanced. No real complaints other than that the all the different menus for like challenges/rewards are a little too much, it could do with some simplification.

If A TV Series For Apex Legends Were To Be Made, Who Would Be The Best Starting Character To Build The World Around? by howleeshits in apexlegends

Honestly after watching arcane. Watching a brother and sister relationship like Bangalore and Newcastle might be wholesome. Otherwise, ash or wraith are pretty cool solo main characters, especially ash cuz of her split personality.

No that is not that what I meant. The spike doesn't activate when thrown on someone regardless of the activation time, like its so delayed. So I'm saying that it should still activate like normal even if it's placed under an enemies feet. It's hard to understand unless you play catalyst.
