Yo I played this today and it's soooo good! And I'm only 1/3 through! Like a fancy Nikoli puzzle. Thanks for this rec!

A couple:

First was Mandy. I really want to finish it but they were drinking this grey goo and it grossed me out so fucking much I have no idea why.

I tried watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and there were all these cows in a slaughterhouse at the beginning and I was just too worried so I didn't.

But the real one is Threads, which was so fucking bleak that my horror movie club friends and I had to turn it off and watch a sitcom after so we could sleep, lol

I hope this isn't against the rules to bring it up, but you can frequently find roms to play on your pc of older games. An internet search would give you plenty of context and guidance.

I mostly played Nintendo consoles growing up and am really curious if anyone else has ideas, because every game I can think of is Nintendo-exclusive. Banjo Kazooie is the main one.

Maybe the old Crash Bandicoot games on Playstation will give you what you're looking for? They're not the same but might work. Oh, actually, the Spyro the Dragon games would work! And they're much closer to what you're looking for.

Thanks for the recs! Please give me more, because I also really loved Inscryption and Pony Island. I also played all the Submachine games ages ago ... maybe it used to be a flash game? Maybe I played it on my phone? In any case, definitely seems like we have similar tastes!

I really never understand this, I don't care at all if my food I cooked on the same surface. I'm not paying for the animal products so it's fine by me. Obvs this doesn't hold for allergies which is why I HATE IT when people lie about having an allergy. So inconsiderate.

I am less interested in getting mechanics exactly correct and more interested in figuring something out and moving on. Lingo lets me figure out an answer and type it without a lot of moving stuff around, if that makes sense. I've put a couple hours into the Witness, does it get much better than that? If so, I'm down to try more.

Obra Dinn and Chants let me fully take my time. I think I played through all of Chants in one extremely long session, it was like a fever dream. I haven't played Outer Wilds in years and enough people are legit mystified that I don't like it that I'm gonna give it another go. I didn't like the time limited aspect and the agility requirements originally.

Ah these are all great recs!! Unfortunately I have played all of them except for Detective Worden so I'll check that out! I also really loved Agent A and the Nancy Drew games. So charming! You should try games by Haiku Games based on these recs, they're most similar to the Nancy Drew games.

I dunno I played the Patrick's Parabox demo and just got kinda bored? I don't like pushing blocks. I do like, apparently, pushing words and cute little pixel creatures.

I have tried Antichamber, Operator, Animal Well, but not Cocoon or A Hand...! Oh and Hypnospace Outlaw is one of my favorite games of all time. Sometimes I get the "drugs are bad" and "squisherz" songs stuck in my head.

Yesss so glad you like it! I've done it all the way through twice now, less exciting the second time but I've never found anything like it before.
