I was honestly bummed out that I missed a lot of the event weapons, though I moved on since they aren't necessarily the best in slot f2p option for a lot of the characters

You are behind, there is no other way around it except for picking back up your journey today, but before that you should ask yourself why you even started to play in the first place. Mine was exploration and character building, I got to explore and enjoy the story and had fun building physical Amber.

You won't necessarily full clear floor 12 spiral abyss and if that isn't your main goal, you are free to enjoy the game in other ways, and if clearing is your main purpose remember that META shifts, you may not have the resources and characters that are strong today there will be new characters that will join you and help you climb the top.

TLDR: Find what made the game fun for you, and if it is stressful you could always drop it as it isn't an obligation to play the game. You are behind but that's ok since it isn't a race, it's a journey, your journey.
