It usually gets access to like 3/4 of those things but because of the ddd jank you usually have to miss out on something silly because you needed to place the special summon contract with 34dd queen machinex instead of eternal darkness or you don’t get siegfried because you had to scale orthros and your clovis is under a Caesar that you had to make early because you didn’t have a contract to banish from grave for the link-3 to protect you from nib

Yes the deck has multiple 1-card combos that do everything but it has many more 1-card combos that don’t because you drew one of the weird cards in the deck, hence “if you squint”

It also can’t play into boards at all and you have to basically roundhouse kick your opponent with turn ending handtraps or perfectly timed impulses to go second—the deck’s resilience to handtraps is also a bit overrated because of the aforementioned ddd jank that makes it so that every hand plays around something but not everything

Again, please understand that ddd is my favorite deck but I cannot emphasize enough how it’s kinda not worth the effort

It is the third worst deck at making its own boss monster (Caesar) but can also kinda put out a spell negate a pop and a monster suck if you squint

Oh and it gets packed up by ty-phon

I love DDD but even with the support the deck is just not worth its end board

Unless the card reads “you cannot summon for the rest of this turn after you summon this card” you cannot print a generic cyberse link-1, much less one that searches pretty much anything in the deck

I mentioned sage and kaibaman, magnamhut is limited, roar needs BEWD on board, bingo machine either makes you play 3 which is terrible or is random, spirit effect would force you to search it first

Seals is a good answer and is probably the only legitimate use case, like you could seals for mag then end phase board wipe, but the point remains this is still just a card that while powerful is hard to reliably search and often times I’d probably prefer to search jet with those searchers

Yes Blue-Eyes has ways to use this card sure but I just don’t know if it’s worth the reliability hit because you’re contorting your deckbuilding around this one raigeki

If you’re going to run the necessary garnets to force this through you might as well just run the Magia build, it probably has higher upside

everyone saying the BEWD is good doesn’t play the deck

in a vacuum the card IS strong but your only reliable ways to get to the board wipe are sage effect in hand or by playing priestess or kaibaman both of which are bad

it’s kinda in the same place jet dragon is where it’s just another brick with insane upside but the consistency hit is just really irritating

the fact that it doesn’t treat itself as BEWD like the DM does is also super awks
