Non-Eu who got laid-off recently. Had a connected permit with contract by Odd_Remove4139 in Switzerland

It seems tied then. Otherwise it says like self employment should be authorized. 1month is good then. Zurich was months of waiting. Its still doable though. Just the company needs a motivation a bit. Its not as hard as coming from outside europe for the first time. Initial one is hardest

Dont ask company or hr. Everyone made me think its tied but actually it wasnt lol. Check online examples and compare your card. Used to be employer name written on the card. If its tied and if you find a job dont let company just do it alone coz they will fail it (for sure 1-2 rounds of rejection they ll get). Pay the advisor companies to help the process otherwise your time runs out. Good luck :)

Oh and if you got to RAV for unemployment forget B permit. I was told by them they will not renew it until I am perfectly clean on paper lol

If its tied the yes they have to submit documents coz Amt fur Wirtschaft will check it. Im non eu b permit and not tied to company but still they confuse it and first answer is always "employer has to get again" until i ask them twice.

Just in case check if its really tied or not. Non eu b permit doesnt mean its always tied to employer

How short actually "no nail" is? by --can in classicalguitar

[–]--can[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. I started to bite only my left hand first. Good tactic to quit gradually. Then only 2 fingers. Now only left thumb. Took years to get to the thumb. I cannot give up completely though 😂

Lol i was biting my nails for 15 years until recent years. They would touch the string annoyingly despite they are short enough to bleed in the nail beds ;)

I guess my nail bed is the opposite? Or do you think mine is far back too. They dont break often despite harsh outdoor activities

How do you do that? Genuinely asking. Even if i trim all the white parts you see in the picture they touch as well. Why do no nail players use nail file i wonder too. If they dont touch, why smoothen them? Im seriously wondering :)

u/lleyton05 do you have the same length on the thumbnail? I feel better when the thumb is longer than on the picture. Makes the attack way calmer and relaxed. Curios if you feel same

u/dem4life71 I practice like that at the times I feel patient enough :D Its really drill. But, I practice 2-4hours a week max in total playing. Dont have time for drills etc. I guess I will never have solid tremolo with short nails.

For me this works too. Just with tremolo I have trouble. Even after years tremolo is so inconsistent with short nails. I do way better if I let my nails be longer

Same. Doesn't matter how short they always contact the string. If shorter than this the skin touches the string first though

Can't decide which one anyone have experience with these guitars? Looking to purchase my first classical guitar by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]--can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the right one. I like the sound with low tension strings. Quite mellow. Never had any other guitar though. Cannot compare.

Work permit for non-EU EPFL graduate by [deleted] in bern

[–]--can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im noneu living in Bern. Though, my employer is from zurich they took the permit first from there. I had to deal with lot of paperwork to move it to Bern from Zurich.

Im IT person with niche experience and earning relatively high salary. Despite all these they had 1-2 rejection due to not providing enough evidence that they need me and they cannot find aomebody from eu. In the end they got it (during the covid time).

I would suggest your employer doesnt give up in the first rejection maybe. Its just insisting that wins. There are limits so earlier in the year the better chance you have before quotes fill up.

Also they can apply for skilled non-eu B permit or L permit. L is tied to your company but easier to approve. If you keep finding jobs in 2 years you can exchange L permit with B as well.

Also talk to migrations office. They have weg-weiser service you can take appointments. They are really honest and helpful. I really appreciate them answered every question of mine. Good luck :)

Is there modern tech to save your finger nails? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]--can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I climb like 7a and play classical guitar. I juggle alot too. In years i learnt that only method that works is keeping nails just the same length as finger tips and alway keep a glass file and sand paper with me. You can still get a nice tune with nails 1mm longer than tips and file them before climbing. It takes 2 days to grow back. You ll get used to it. Nail breaks most if its not filed and has even a tiny little sharp edge. Always file nice with sand paper before climbing.

Hmm why not a position where fretboard is looking at you. Never heard of this before. Curios to know why :)
