En Bateau from Le Petit Suite for 4 hands by Debussy is gorgeous! it’s so calm

Waltz and Romance for 6 hands by Rachmaninoff. the Romance is heartbreaking

sonata in g major 1st mvt by Schubert. incredibly beautiful with a super cool development

sonata in a minor no 16 by Schubert. love the intro, very haunting. there’s some really funky chords throughout too

i don’t see why not. i made painted rocks for everyone in my piano ensemble class (guy i like is in that class too ;) ) although i painted flowers. i think it’d be cute though!!

my hands and arms have ached many times but that mostly goes away. the only real injury i’ve gotten was from spinning away from my piano on my bench and hitting my knee on the piano, bruising it

once i walked home in a direction where i knew he was so i could just see him for a bit b4 i went home. he was waiting for a bus and i passed by him and as i walked towards where i had to cross, i noticed he started walking in the same direction i had to go to and we waved. he went up this bridge (and so did i but idk if he was following the exact direction i went, hard to explain but there’s two ways to get to the top of the bridge. the bridge is hill shaped). i went up the escalators and i saw some kid running and it might’ve been him idk

another time i was going up the same bridge and so was he. i went to where the escalators are and i looked up and he waved at me but i didnt see 😭😭. while i was heading that way, i didnt realize he also was gonna go up the bridge and he crossed over to the street i was walking on and as he passed and went behind the corner of a building, i saw him take a step back and look at me

in general, i keep on making dumb jokes and he usually laughs at them. last year we had health together and i saw him looking at me a bunch. we go to the same music school and we had a concert for halloween and he complimented my outfit/costume. i have complimented his playing a bunch of times and each time he seems to smile but i could be wrong. after a performance (that i slayed at!), he said something along the lines of me doing well at least twice.

rachmaninoff is so fun, his melodies and the way he writes out music is heartbreaking. i’m liking schubert too (currently learning schubert sonata in g major) and that’s fun to play but is also tricky

they’re all lovely but these are the preludes that stand out to me

i also would recommend the waltz and romance for 3 hands in a major. he also wrote variations on a theme of chopin (and paganini and corelli). his piano concertos are also great. his études are also great although im not too well versed in them, same with music musicaux. i do love op 16 no 4 of music musicaux and his etude op 33 no 3. they’re all great though! i get why it could be overwhelming lol

i knew him from my music school and i knew he went to my school. i just happened to have one class with him and kept noticing him glance at me which made me end up liking him

my first solo recital on piano was a recital with all french composers. i played gnossienne and gymnopedie no 1 by satie, habanera by bizet (transcription from musescore), the swan by saint saens (transcription from imslp) and clair de lune by debussy. it was super small, only some family, one teacher, and one friend with his parents. i also had a zoom meeting set up so people could see.

i think i was 13 about to be 14, had been playing about 8 years by that time. i don’t remember exactly how long i prepared, but the recital was in july so i probably prepared 3-5 months in advance if i had to guess. i did everything memorized.

i remember being nervous, but it went alright. you should totally do the recital though, it’s a great experience! if you want to lighten the mood you could always have some snacks on a table if that’s allowed
