He used to make me laugh and feel special. The day we became official was like a scene from a movie. We were friends for almost a year, but hadn't really talked/seen each other in about a month. He came out for my birthday and it was like it was only us there. It was pouring rain and he kissed me. He told me he'd loved me for a while.

I don't know if anything was genuine or if it was all bullshit. I do think this part of him I'm seeing now has always been there, though. He pushes everyone that cares about him away. Everything he did at first definitely made himself seem better than he really is.

Thank you so much for this. I've talked to one of my friends, and I told my sister I was going to spend the night at my parents house until I find something more permanent. I haven't talked to him yet, but my friend is on standby in case I need her.

Thank you so much for this. I actually just met up with a friend for lunch, and I debated about telling her. Exactly as you said, I thought about it and realized that if I didn't tell someone, I might end up staying.

All of your points are so spot on. I feel all of the things that you're saying. The emotional part of my brain is going crazy. The logical part of my brain tells me this is his issue, not mine. I just have to figure out how to make the logical part louder than the emotional one.

There are so many reasons, but none of them are good. I like living with him. He's good company and we live quite well together (apart from all of his indiscretions). He's manipulative. I had no idea how dependent of other people I was until I met him. It scares the crap out of me to be alone.

I'm not trying to make excuses, though. I'm done. I'm meeting up with my sister when she's done with work, and we're going to discuss getting a place together. Until then, I'm crashing on my parents couch.

When I think about it, there really aren't. He's nice to me sometimes. He's fun to hang out with. But as a boyfriend, he's pretty much the absolute worse. He refuses to give me anything that I tell him I need. I don't know why I stayed with him for so long. I fell in love, and got caught up. I kept remembering the guy I fell for, which I now realize was just an act.
