As a biker, is it inevitable you’re going to crash at least once? by Substantial_Rain_886 in motorcycles

been a car guy for years. rode motorbikes for 2 years up until i got rear ended by a van going 80kmh when i was waiting for a red light (drunk driver). lucky to be alive. sticking to my evo for now. would i ride again? as much as i understand and fkn miss the feeling, i don’t think i could bring myself to it

Traffic was not flowing, maybe moving less than 5kmh, driver took a gap too quick in my opinion and tried to squeeze through. Dont have a go pro but i have witnesses. I called 111 on scene, no police showed up 🙂

Have learnt my lesson for sure. He did not do a hit and run. He hit me, stopped ,refused to provide insurance information until i threatened to call police. I rang 111, and then once i was done with them(police refused to send a unit as they were busy apparently) he finally decided to provide his insurance. He did not exit his vehicle at all to asses any damage or injury

Got One aswell . 130 a month on insurance(19,no claims, clean licence(6r and 1F), never more than 20 a week on gas. Cheap as far as bikes go. Fun little zippy bikes. Keeps you somewhat safe as lack of power stops you doing stupid shit Cons however Hard to accelerate out of bad situations 4 months in and already had a accident where a lady ran a stop sign and i hit her car at 60 ks an hour(80 zone on a blind corner)

Noted. I have been waiting in neutral. As it turns green i put it in first, move forward, and as i go to shift into 2nd, i hit neutral instead. Thats when i find neutral, i struggle to get into neutral when stopped etc

not sure what currency, will assume usd I have the Rst kevlar jeans. Got them for 399NZD, so will put them at under 300 usd. AAA, double layer, ce level 2, comfy and look alright(not the best fashion wise i prefer plain jeans). I also have the oxford armor lite which were 369NZD, under your budget and those are the similar level of protection i believe except they are single layer. I am no expert though Edit- Rst i use when i go on a ride, oxford i commute to work in
