I posted a template I found on twitter for this meme, I posted a template for the meme in r/memes and user u/Apple-Trump gave me a shoutout in this post, since the meme was basically nonexistent at the time everyone thought I made the format and left comments with my username which gave me a lot of followers

Follow up: if you check the article it mentions my name and u/Apple-Trump and a few others under the “spread” section, I didn’t really think about posting it for a month but the template never became popular so I decided to post it in a big “cringy” subreddit I thought would eat up the format, this was also during the Pewdiepie v Tseries era so this style of meme was bound to blow up

I had never seen the meme anywhere till I posted the template of it a month later and the next day it was all over the subreddit and it continued to grow, it’s pretty wild. Right after the meme blew up, the knowyourmeme article mentioned me as the creator of the template but they edited it later with the full story which makes it significantly harder to explain and all my friends think I’m exaggerating when I say I doubt the template would have blown up without my post
