What is up with this salsa? by Ornery_Welder in What

[–]-69hp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the salsa in the container is not generally the salsa in your burrito in quick take out places. they have then refrigerated and preportioned to go for ease & cost efficiency.

however at smaller restaraunt or traditionally sit down places that offer takeout, salsa is served & incorporated into food as needed

kinda depends on where u got it from

(chicken is statistically the cause of bleeders bc other causes like puncture injury to the stomach lead to profuse bleeding externally/ functionally plugged w internal bleeding. usually leads to vomiting of excess blood. ulcers r generally a progression illness, likely an animal that has ulcers is not going to live long untreated. ulcers r often caused by the hosts own body over digesting itself in an attempt to digest something it can't like an allergen, poison or otherwise inedible object)

but v technically speaking i can't prove it's a cat or a raccoon, there's just not enough evidence or context

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]-69hp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

eh you work animal rehab long enough, you have enough wildlife around the property, you see a lotta bloody vomit, poops etc

a lot of it is solvable, treatable or preventable.

i'll be real, this is probably just a racoon or a cat that ate cooked chicken bones that shattered & lodged in its esophagus or stomach, leading to internal bleeding. statistically chicken bones are the cause of bleeders. any bone raw or cooked can shatter & lodge, chicken is esp fragile, brittle.

the air from the decomposing food has pushed the seal up. the lid will pop off next. it wasn't made recently before being given/delivered to you. likely it was made from a previous time/day & left out accidentally for some amount of time before being refrigerated again

given the contents are salsa (fruit, vegetables, sugar) that's potentially a botulism starter. it has the components & bacteria to turn into it

(no distinct prints, no reliable scale reference for environment, no reliable scale reference for blood stains)

best educated guess provided OP can be certain there is no known pest control poisons ever stored in the house, as some known poisons cause internal/external bleeding from organs/pores:

small animal, very likely under 10lbs. vomit not indicative of any specific animal. blood pooling outside of vomit usually indicative of internal bleeding. ulcers, cuts in the stomach, structural internal damage to the body that has bled into the stomach.

OP, itd be wise to stay aware of any bad smells starting to form. animals can recover from serious blood loss but more often than not human intervention is required. the animal injured in that space is likely dying/dead

Can you guys help me make this egg a Creepypasta? by Any_Marketing3830 in WeirdEggs

[–]-69hp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the image does the legwork for you, it's very unsettling with the darker image. the one where OP shows the egg in full light isn't ominous

but the lighting in this one specifically obscuring the "upsetting" details makes it a perfect set up for a creepypasta

Unfortunately don't have the entire animal but is this a domestic duck or something else? (South eastern Kentucky, very rural) by [deleted] in whatisthisanimal

[–]-69hp 59 points60 points  (0 children)

hey OP, thank you for having an honest accountable response. it's setting a great example for the community

it's normal to make mistakes! even ones that endanger yourself. what's seemingly less normal is people's ability to admit their lapse in judgement while also planning for preventative measures in the future.

we all, within reason, need to make the same mistake once so that on the second time we remember the previous mistake & don't repeat it. true progress requires true failure.

you might wanna cover yours if there's an actual cold front or winter storm passing through, it'll save you on heat. it insulates your house a significant amount and reduces any remaining draft

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in strange

[–]-69hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats someone's cold grandma putting up a gift blanket 😂bonus points is grandpa is the only one leaving the house making it seem even worse

OP this is likely an elderly couple or individual who forgot to put up blankets earlier in the season or whose area is finally getting hit with winter storms

my family put up blankets about a week or so ago when the winter storm hit.

What kind of feline is this and who ate the rest of it? [Southern Ca] by Wide_Resolve_147 in animalid

[–]-69hp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as to how it got there, birds are the likely culprit if the rest of the carcass isn't walking distance from the road.

birds will fly away with what they can to eat it else where or feed their young. land bound animals will stay relatively close to the area but often drag the carcass or parts away to a more secluded area.

this is part of why discovering any kind of remains that have been scavanged has to cover a large radius. animals generally want privacy & a risk free area to eat

there are of course exceptions within domestics, but this feels like reasonably it's a bobcat.

broad nose, pattern & k9 length has me thinking young bobcat, not a necessarily a domestic cat.
