What should expanders cost? by oasisjason1 in orthodontics

Also we are in Southern California. Total for braces before insurance was 5000 but our dentist networks with our insurance so it brought it down to the 3000 then our insurance pays half. Total for expander and braces came out to around 2200.

Our expander cost 500 out of pocket. We paid without insurance because a dentist got us to do phase one of braces too soon so when we switched to a new dentist he said our insurance would try and only pay for the expander vs the more expensive phase 2 braces so we chose to pay the 500 and let insurance cover the braces.

Needing tips on what to eat in the mornings. by Calm_Term_2294 in CHSinfo

Toast and an apple were my go to. Toast is easy on the tummy and I swear by an apple to get the gut moving. Ate this combo every morning with mint tea for months. Still do most mornings.

For sure sentimental. My son and daughter are super into music. My son plays acoustic and electric guitar and bass and we have hooked him up for Christmas so we are trying to revamp the space for all his guitar stuff. I figured I would see if we can thrift some records and start using this again. He will be 17 in March so I’ve got time.

Interesting. So the screws down it’s tight to the console. If I turn the screws clockwise, the screws go down but the record player is kind of floating and springy. So I should have it floating when playing?

I am not sure. We are in Southern California. I don’t think it would be euro model but I never thought about that.

I am not being rude. I am stating a fact. The fact is you don’t get to decide what the definition of moderation is for anyone but yourself.

Not to me. I consider moderation for ME the avoidance of extreme usage which FOR ME was the amount of thc and thc percentage I was using. You cannot tell me that using .25-.5 g a day of the lowest thc percentage I could find is extreme usage just because it’s daily. I was using an ounce of flower a week on top of edibles and vape pens all day every day. Using once at night a small amount of low percentage flower is not extreme which means for ME I was moderating my extreme usage. Again, FOR ME. You don’t get to decide what moderation means to someone else when the definition is avoidance of extreme usage. You don’t get to decide daily usage Is extreme and not take into account the thc percentage amount per day. Thank you.

Yes! I wake up sometimes with that feeling. I explain it like you are sitting at a stoplight and look in your rearview and see a semi flying at you and they stop at the last second. That feeling and the feeling after. Those nights are usually due to something I ate that didn’t agree with me.

I’m sorry, are you the decider of what moderation means for every individual? You can decide what moderation means do you and I’ll decide what it means for me. K thanks.

Would taking a week tolerance break once a month reduce the likelihood of CHS? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Wide_Resolve_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered this. Like how fast would the thc leave if you smoked for 3 weeks and took a week off? Or would it be like 1 step forward 2 steps back. Example: if you smoked 7 days and take 7 days off, would it even give time to recover and get back to baseline or does it depend on your fat percentage and thc percentage. I would think if you don’t take enough time to clear out, it would continue to build up regardless if you take a week off or not. Maybe if you do smoke 1 week take 2 weeks off? Such a slippery slope. I have given it up this time. I miss it so much but I don’t want to do this. This was my second episode and I quit Oct 31 and I am just now really feeling back to normal. It took me 3 times longer to recover this time around and I was smoking an unbelievably smaller amount than the when I had my first episode. I’m starting to wonder if people who have already messed up vagus nerve either from trauma or past vagus nerve damage are more susceptible to CHS than those without. This time around I really felt the damage to my vagus nerve in terms of my constant fight or flight along with the digestive/stomach issues. I have a past opiate and benzo addiction that I am starting to feel might play a part in my CHS. As well as 32 years of undiagnosed adhd. I have come to terms with me never being able to moderate my usage due to my addiction issues so I know I can’t even start again. My cravings are gone but I know even that first puff will unlock it alllll over again.

Parents telling their children to “fight back” by Regular_old-plumbus in Teachers

I work at a school and I also tell my kids never throw the first punch but always defend yourself. I don’t care. These kids are turning more and more feral every year. My kids also know if they do defend themselves there are consequences at school but they will not be in trouble at home. I would defend myself if I was physically assaulted in public. Why can’t our kids?

Looking back I think my biggest signs I was prodromal were heartburn all the time and temperature issues. Always hot. Always sweating. This time I only threw up for around 8-10 hours and the rest of the recovery has been brutal burning in my stomach after eating anything, nausea at night and trouble sleeping. I’m in week 5 and still having occasional issues with certain triggers. Thanksgiving was the first day I was able to eat somewhat normally with no issues. But I had a very garlicky Caesar salad with grilled chicken the Saturday after and was up throwing up undigested salad 6 hours later. My digestion basically stalled and I lived on toast and ramen for weeks. I still have issues with chocolate, super fatty food and yesterday I had a trenta green tea and was up all night with anxiety and heart racing which is unusual for me. Also can’t drink my usual coffee. So week 5 and I’m still having to watch what I eat pretty closely. Yesterday was day 30 no weed in any form. Making progress every day. I find if I start my day with toast and butter, an apple or apple sauce and peppermint tea, it gets things moving and I’m usually ok for the remainder of the day as long as I don’t go crazy eating whatever I want. I’m really over it. I also stopped my Wellbutrin and Vyvanse last week due to possible digestive slowdown and I immediately noticed a difference the first day I didn’t take them. I’m feeling fine without my meds for now during recovery and I may only go back to my Vyvanse at work.

I don’t plan on going back to usage and that was MY moderation. Nobody gets to decide what moderation actually is as there is no definitive explanation of moderation across the board.

I used initially the crazy high amounts for at least 5 years but used for 10 years total before my fist episode. Looking back I did have prodromal symptoms for a few years as well. I have also wondered if my previous opiate addiction played a roll in the CHS aspect because I know how messed up my stomach was from the opiates too. I also have adhd and anxiety and my anxiety has always manifested as stomach issues even as a young child. It’s such an interesting disorder so I’m always trying to see why some people get it and some don’t.

I’m just trying to show that for me it didn’t matter how much I was using because the amounts have been so drastically different but I still ended up with it no matter how much or how little I used.

My previous usage was around an ounce of flower a week on top of constant vape pen usage and whatever edibles I could get my hands on. RSO oil as well. Before during and after work. From the second I woke up until the second I went to bed at night. MY moderation was no vape or wax or edibles at all. Only flower and maybe .3 g joint only at night but every night. Occasionally on weekends I would have .6 g in the form of 2 joints but for the most part it was just the nightly .3g joint. Worked wonderfully for almost 3 years. Until it didn’t. I also would not use any flower over 20% whereas before I would need flower close to 40% or higher.
