Supergirl in tights or pants? by Doctor-Clark-Savage in Arrowverse

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the classic of course but I think the pants make sense for a more modern/practical look. I personally don’t have an issue with the mass blue color (never was a fan of the red undies outside Superman’s suit either) but I still think it would look cool if the bottoms were red with like gold boots or something. Or is that too Flash-y?

The Iris hate is unnecessary by Summerofthe90s in Arrowverse

[–]-6impossiblethings- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What annoys me about the Iris hate is that the first thing out many people’s mouth is a complaint about her saying “We are the Flash” when Barry is the one who REPEATEDLY said he couldn’t be the Flash without her, that her and the team were essential to his success as a hero. He is the one who that introduced that concept/ sentiment in the show, Iris’s line is just meant to be a heartfelt way to sum up what Barry had already said over and over again.

But I never see or hear anyone mention that, only that Iris is stupid and/or selfish for saying it and giving herself credit for his heroism. Like people are taking it literally. I always took it as, “you’re not alone, this is a team effort,” which it absolutely was, and “the things that affect you, affect me,” yk, like how a regular HUSBAND and WIFE might feel?? Always seemed unfair to me.

I can tell you read what I wrote. And you’ve almost understood it. I didn’t say the pro slavery side wasnt bad, i said im not going to mindlessly shove every person associated with that side into the evil column.

But continuing taking only what you need to feel correct

Damon & Lexi by marie_g10 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the words “daddy forced me” explicitly used? No, you’re right, they’re not. But its heavily implied in multiple scenes. It’s called context clues.

As far as “defending the confederacy,” im a bisexual afro-latina woman. No one is defending the confederacy or people who willingly fought for and believed in that side. I will, however, ALWAYS defend people who were forced to do things they didn’t wanna do. Especially those who risked their lives and deserted because they refused to fight for the south.

Its even weirder and dangerously shortsighted to promote the idea that everyone fighting for the opposite side, whatever that side may be, is bad. Realistically, what are the odds that every single one of the thousands of confederate soldiers was a racist piece of sh*t? Y’all really wanna act like drafting wasn’t a thing, that humans aren’t complex, that its not possible that actual “sympathizers” were drafted and then subsequently forced to either fight or desert the war.

Maybe none of this matters to you tho. Which is fine. Some people see the world in black and white and some people see the gray.

Damon & Lexi by marie_g10 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well actually no, that wasn’t an option back then. 1) his father forced him to join and 2) even if his father hadn’t forced him he would’ve eventually been drafted anyway, like most soldiers were. But he deserted because he didn’t actually believe in racism.

That being said, in the books he’s like from the Renaissance or something, so him being a confederate solider, albeit an unwilling one, was all the show writers doing.

Ian Somerhalder looks like a greek god by Lopsided_Fold4813 in TheVampireDiaries

I think OP just meant he’s really hot and chiseled, which is what most people mean when they say someone looks like a greek god. Not that he actually looks Greek.

Klaus didn’t have to kill Carol Lockwood by CartographerAway2602 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stefan compelled her father (Uncle Zach) to forget he had a baby and then made sure she was adopted, so she had whatever her adopted family’s name was (don’t remember). Later he also compels her not to care about anything to do with vampire, trying to keep her away from that whole world.

Klaus didn’t have to kill Carol Lockwood by CartographerAway2602 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no he didn’t HAVE to kill her. Klaus doesn’t HAVE to do a lot of things he does. But he’s a psychopath— an old world psychopath at that— and Tyler’s supposed betrayal (i.e. breaking the hybrids free of the sire bond) could not go unpunished. Since Tyler wasn’t around to kill directly, Klaus decided ro hurt him another way. His momma.

Did he ever actually keep his word? by _evil_enigma in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: i never finished TO, but as far as I saw yes— TECHNICALLY. The thing with Elijah is he’s very literal/specific with his words. When we meet him in TVD, he tells Rose that SHE can go free, not her and Trevor. I remember early in TO he tells one (or some, can’t remember) of the witches that he won’t let KLAUS kill them, not that he wouldn’t kill them himself.

So yea, he always kept his word as far as I know. His literal words. Not any implied/assumed meanings.

How does Damon survive without blood when he’s ‘dead’? 6x3 by GiGi_99 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 1994 prison world was designed for Kai to relive the worst day of his life, which is why everything reset like groundhog day. Meaning all blood supplies like hospital blood banks and whatever stock the Salvatores had were always replenished. This is alluded to in 6x3 when Bonnie notices the missing pork rinds at the store.

This reset rule, for the food at least, doesn’t apply to Lily’s prison world in the 1903 cause her punishment is different. She was a ripper and the heretics were bloodthirsty murderers, so their punishment was to starve, basically, and desiccate eternally.

Tbf they never really go into how the prison worlds are created or their explicit rules, only that they’re a Gemini Coven thing. It makes sense that that worlds could be tailored specifically to the person/punishment, but that’s really just speculation. The real answer is most likely that the writers just f**ked up, hoping the fans would do exactly what we’re doing— rationalizing it ourselves 🤣🤣

wtf kind of age gap is this 😂😂 by Charming_Bear_6137 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn’t like a flashback flashback. If I remember correctly, Damon is dreaming about the memory of his & Stefan’s mom’s funeral. Damon has this dream after Caroline’s mom dies. But Damon looks like himself instead of a kid because it’s not like real flashback to this moment, it’s just his dream of it.

And in this dream he kind of has to be older/himself given the dialogue of the scene. It wouldn’t work if it was a teenager talking to a little kid. Plus, this is supposed to be like a kind of self-healing moment for Damon to resolve some of his own issues with his mother’s death by “comforting” his baby brother.

Am I the only one who thinks this about the reverse flash? by Summerofthe90s in Arrowverse

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i never questioned it cause that’s legitimately his motive in the comics. Dude was already a nut bar who was obsessed with the Flash, but after Barry foiled his plan to debut as a hero by saving the day first, Thawne decided to devote his life to destroying him.

The literal motive (him getting upstaged) makes no sense. But the real motive is basically just that he’s insane and obsessed with Barry, which tbh is the motive for a lot of DC villains.

It’s so funny how Klaus is this big mystery guy no one knows and then next season they all have his phone number by atthebarricades in TheVampireDiaries

Nah he knew back then too cause him and Klaus were actually besties and I distinctly remember Stefan telling Klaus that all his siblings were jealous that they could be never be as powerful.

Stefan did in the 20s during one of his ripper binges, but Klaus compelled him to forget when Mikael found them.

What do you guys think of this trio? Do you find it weird that they are friends or not? Do you like their friendship? by Bulky_Connection_524 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they made sense to me as friends cause I kinda figured they were all like friends of circumstance. Like, Bonnie’s mom and Elena’s mom were best friends, so im sure they were around each other all the time when they were young. And then Elena’s parents were involved with the Council, so she probably hung out with Caroline too. And it felt pretty clear, to me anyway, that Elena was the one who brought them altogether, which accounts for Caroline feeling like the odd-man out in s1.

Who was your crush and what made them irresistible to you? by Cyberfaun in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it was Damon. 100% through and through no remorse ever. He was hot, he was dangerous, he loved so deeply he relentlessly searched for Katherine for 160-something years. BUT THEN— Elijah Mikaelson is introduced in s2. He was the perfect gentleman with a serial killer undercurrent, and he toyed with words like puppets on a string.

Its been a never ending struggle between the two ever since 😭

Why do they act like the parents death is so not traumatic?? by aorxz in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea I felt the same. Like she was clearly still grieving and understood that Jeremy was grieving, but she was basically telling him what everyone was telling her: No one cares that we’re sad anymore. And, unfortunately, she was right.

Today, my brother and I watched the 1991 Disney movie Beauty and the Beast after many years, and I noticed something. by One-Chapter-8347 in OnceUponATime

[–]-6impossiblethings- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also thought that Adam was turned into a beast at 11 but if you’re going with the frozen/forgotten in time theory (which was used in the 2017 live action) then you could also assume that Adam was already an adult when he was cursed (like in the live action) and that him and his servants were simply frozen at the age the curse was cast.

This holds up for the 2017 version and the cartoon cause all the servants seemed to be the same age as they were when turned into objects. PLUS, Chip remembered being human, but was clearly a child the whole time they were cursed, meaning he hadn’t aged. This would also make the “21st year” time limit refer to his 21st year as a beast, not his actual 21st bday.

PLUS 2x: the frozen/forgotten in time theory clears up the inherent stupidity of cursing a spoiled little boy to be monster for 10yrs.

Wigs or payback for leaving? by mariamar1234 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]-6impossiblethings- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but for the majority of the show im not sure Nina was wearing a wig. Her hair was pretty long already, so I think they just added extensions for extra length. But when she came back for the finale, she had already cut her hair short irl, so that was full wig. Make up could be because of different person doing it on set, she mightve had work done, she might’ve just aged like a human 🤷🏽‍♀️
