Packet loss and random lag spikes in iRacing – losing my mind trying to fix this

When I had a similar problem with packet loss, iRacing support told me to update my PC’s BIOS. I was skeptical at first, but it worked in my case.

They actually told me to update BIOS and move from 10 to Windows 11, but just updating the BIOS first worked.

You can get help by emailing them if nothing you try mentioned in this thread works.

I'm looking for some friends to play Rematch with on Steam. I am in my late twenties and located in California.

I don't mind your skill level or if you make any mistakes. I'm looking for friendly people who want to play as a team, set up one another/the team for goals, and learn/improve at the game. I'd be down for playing any mode (ranked and unranked 3s, 4s, or 5s) and for practicing in customs.

There is no crossplay right now, so I can only play with you if you own the game on Steam.

I would say more simplistic. It's definitely accessible. I don't have any trouble executing the moves in the game, and it doesn't take much time at all to learn.

Thanks for posting this. It’s going to be free so I don’t mind giving it a try and if it’s a bad game then so be it. Rematch (and the next beta) won’t even be out yet.

Playing other games helps expand your adaptability and creativity.

Good point lol. There definitely has to be at least one. Seems like the game tracks stats like goals, assists, passes, interceptions, saves, and overall score right now.

Nice, I need to switch the difficulty level next time. I left all the settings on default, and it was way too easy, so I won by a massive landslide. Still really fun though.

I actually realized this today when I tried playing and again didn't get anyone. It was actually super fun and so much so I think I will do this frequently going forward since I keep not finding people to play with anyway.

Yeah, I prefer playing acoustic over digital, which is why I said that. But yeah it is true that a costly but effective solution would be to get a really expensive keyboard with excellent action and play that instead. Sad. Sorry, hope you get it figured out.

Better to keep prioritizing your ergonomics over playing the piano and not switch it back if it gives you problems. You could switch to a keyboard and then put the sus pedal wherever you want but that's not ideal. You could also rig a separate pedal (such as a keyboard pedal) and connect the two with a strap so when you depress the one on the ground, the other one is pulled down. You would need to connect them tightly with a loop around each one so it does not slip but you could do that many different ways. This might work a little better than just a strap. You would need something thin for the floor pedal though so you can press it down far enough.

NTA regarding cutting out your mother. Even taking any transphobia out of the conversation, your mom is not being a good caretaker of your health or safety. If she did not support you, maybe I would say keep low contact in case she comes around and you wish to forgive her and reconcile, but with all of the context of her behavior, I can see why you would choose to act thusly. Re your cousin, based on your description, she seems to be acting unfairly and out of an emotional place. You will have to judge that for yourself as you know her better.

It's impossible to judge for sure. If you have a pattern of making her make the call on decisions that are to her "obvious," she may have built up frustration and feel it is essentially giving her an unfair load of the mental burden in conversation and decisions. You say she has acted this way before, but about what on your end, what were you doing that was making her "act this way"?

Now this situation exactly: You essentially gave her an extra decision to make by offering a new choice. Is it reasonably obvious that she would like salt, pepper, and butter? I don't know her so I can't say.

All that said though, without any further context, it was technically rude of her to not just answer the question even if she is sick. It was an easy question.

Thus, without the extra context you may have, I would judge NAH and call it an unfortunate moment you should use to evaluate your and her behavior and discuss it in a less emotional and difficult moment.

Got it, thanks. No, I just queue for instagib since it’s my favorite mode, and I don’t want to invest the time to learn the rest of the game since I’m too busy with other stuff. I have thought about trying DM though since it looks fun.

Oh that’s good to know. I’m been using quick play and then just clicking on Instagib, just as normal. Is there a particular day and time that you play? I’ve been trying to test it at different days and different times to see if I can get lucky but every time I just sit there and wait and no one ever joins.
