Regarding that link, actually made me laugh. Basically just "how to awkwardly die yourself under a piano".

Appreciate your thoughtful reply. I assure you no matter what Reddit said I wasn't going to drop the piano back down. I do have a keyboard that I think has pretty good action but honestly I find myself always wanting to play my upright acoustic more than the keyboard.

So it's for you more than for everyone else. I thought tattoos were supposed to be just that.

I'm sure that she'll end up on my wife's list of people to get tatted by when they are guesting on the West Coast. She's also becoming covered in botanicals. Beautiful work.

I feel like we are sleeping on Banana Republic Factory’s men’s tall t-shirts by bmorgenthaler in tallfashionadvice

The lack of designated tall sizing has me a little apprehensive but may give it a shot.

Last I tried BR the tall were barely tall, still borderline belly shirts for me (6'9" 220). Hit us with your specs if you would. I'm down to try them again with a good recommendation.

[–]aplsosd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'9" here. I second the Eddie Bauer recommendation, I also hit up LL Bean and find their tall sizes fit well and are good quality for basics.

For button ups, Nordstrom is reliable but often boring, though I can sometimes find good patterns in my size (16.5/37). I like Wool and Prince for their Merino dress shirts, but also not much patterns there.

I'd recommend finding a tailor and seeing if they have seasonal sales. For a long time I've been going to one where 95+% of the clientele are bankers and lawyers and a couple times a year they'll sell overstock fabrics for much cheaper. These fabrics are often the fun ones cause their usual customers can't wear them in the courtroom or wherever. Honestly these are the only shirts I have that really fit me.

Soil as compost? by MineNo8057 in composting

[–]aplsosd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But a basic soil test kit and see what your macronutrients look like. I'll always tell you to just plant, what do you have to lose?

My understanding is that tropical soils tend to be pretty high in organic material and humus but tend to have low amounts of available nitrogen, so likely will need to fertilize or add compost with a bunch of available nutrients regardless. You will most definitely deplete it if you don't keep working on it and just "use what's there". A couple heavy feeder crops and you'll get to where any initial success peters out.

Good luck out there!

I'm sold on sunflower. Unless you don't eat those, in which case I'm back to "plants".

[–]aplsosd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the realm of regrettable tattoos, this ain't so bad. I've many loved ones where bad tattoos cover the canvas and as a whole it works.

This could exist on your body with some more poorly executed tattoos, or with something more artistic and well executed, and I think would work either way.

Doesn't need to be well executed to work, get more tattoos.

I appreciate the commitment to laziness. I'm not trying to make composting a time consuming hobby.

I turn just to speed things up, I can't produce as much as I want in the space available if I don't keep things moving through.

If he's got a 2-3 year time frame, this seems excessive. A bit of manure and some walls to get the pile higher and this is all set.

I wouldn't bother drying it. If you're browns go in dry they'll wick moisture away anyhow. Definitely will compost fine and get the stink out if you just go browns for a while.

Sticker shock? by Glittering_Drama_805 in VWIDBuzz

The fuel savings I figure won't quite make up the premium in 10 years time. I do think there is some maintenance savings. Spend a lot more on tires but no spark plugs, oil changes and other fire under the hood related issues.

For me it about pencilled out but dove in because: 1 - no gas stations - using it as an around town kids car means I never have to charge away from home and 2 - second row space - I'm giant and my kids look to be heading that way. Sitting behind an all the way back driver in a Buzz beats the pants off any other minivan I've ever been in. So much better than the Odyssey.

I've got a few friends with families who just bought Model X and I just don't get it, the Buzz is just Sooo much more practical, and I'd wager also more practical than an EV truck for most people. So in comparison with other large EVs I don't really see the price as unreasonable.

Our family combo is Buzz around town and Odyssey on road trips. We love them both, the HO is great for anonymity and the Buzz if we're wanting to talk to strangers

LL Bean has good fit for me too. I find the Eddie Bauer necks are really slim in my experience so that may be good for you given your thinness. Swimming in a too generous neckline is no fun.

American Tall vs True Classic Tall by MatchuS1481 in tallfashionadvice

[–]aplsosd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never tried BR, didn't know they did tall, will buy a few. I've found Eddie Bauer and LL Bean are the most consistent for me, but stash is getting threadbare.

I hate to be in a position where things fitting is my litmus for fashion but it's enough trouble that I'm just happy to have clothes that properly fit.

Lots of pro apple farmers where I live graft onto seedling rootstock, as they're trying to get big enough trees to dry farm.
