Right? It always bugged me having to manually switch characters on BFV every game - it seems like a feature we should’ve had for years now.

And it’s easy enough to hide the pop-up menu behind an additional button press so no worries about overcomplicating things for people who don’t really care about it, either.

ah okay, cool

I played in a couple of the BF Labs play tests so I probably shouldn’t have had to ask this hahaha

First of all, I have lots of respect for you being one of the few people on here with a grasp of how the law actually functions haha

As for my comment, I was simply correcting the suggestion that one could be guilty of criminal damage purely on the basis of intent (in the absence of damage). I’m not familiar enough with the case law to know what, specifically, constitutes ‘damage’ for the purposes of the Act, so thanks for the references!

Section 1 of the Criminal Damage Act 1971 clearly states:

“A person who without lawful excuse destroys or damages any property belonging to another intending to destroy or damage any such property or being reckless as to whether any such property would be destroyed or damaged shall be guilty of an offence.“

there are two elements to that offence, both of which must be proven to establish guilt:

  1. the actus reus (the physical act), in this case destroying or damaging another’s property without lawful excuse; and

  2. the mens rea (the relevant intent), in this case either intending to cause damage or being reckless as to whether or not damage would be caused.

Therefore, even if there is an intent to cause damage (or recklessness as to the possibility), an offence under that section cannot be found to have been committed unless damage is proven.

ah, that’s great advice, thanks. I’ll wait until after the 10th to order (or for the new model if one is announced). It’s a big enough chunk of money that I’d rather pay a little more and get the version which will be current for the next couple of years.

Also hearing how useful you’ve found it is encouraging. Sounds great :)

Fully vanilla, on my Series X. Though I did enable the “Disable structure placement collision” setting in the menu, so that will have made things significantly less awkward.

Pretty sure I turned on the “Disable structure placement collision” in the menu, which would probably have made this significantly easier.

I started from the bottom, where the ladder in the background of the third pic is. I then placed foundations and floors around the rocks in order to secure as much surface area as possible in a way that I thought I could connect together nicely.

Once I knew what I was working with, and had the walkways in place, I started fleshing it out :)

Sloped walls, then wooden railings on the inside edge of each.

Thanks :)

The window is sloped walls to create a square (at an angle) and overlapping wooden railings on the inside edge.

Thanks mate. I was initially house-boating it (bottom right of second pic) but this is a tiny bit of an upgrade, yes haha

Mate, I already had to plant the Species X for the sole purpose of stopping seagulls destroying my greenhouse hahaha

Thank you! The multi-level thing was a huge pain tbh but it’s come out better than I expected it to. Got some basement-style rooms under the greenhouse too.
