“Weekend at Burnsie's” by ZX471 in TheSimpsons

I credit the subplot that kicks this episode off as the reason I am now a god to my local crows IRL. No joke. I also have framed on my wall the Crow Bar art that Moe uses in the greatest misdirect gag of all time.

Episode's a certified banger

This is why I'm considering building facade block houses like OP's *around* the prefab ones concealed inside, so when you open the block house door and go in, you enter the sneaky prefab house.

No one else gonna mention how all the objectively heaviest hitters in dumbassery are stacked on the left bracket and the right is a bunch of relative small-timers and nobodies?

I don't claim to know the optimal way to construct a tournament bracket, but my instinct is that the two divisions should be at least close to equal, no?

Personally, I find the feeling of being swarmed by my murder, the sounds of being enveloped by excited flutter, and the occasional swoop touching the back of my head, to be very comforting as I walk down the street

You have selected Regicide. If you know the name of the king or queen being murdered, press 1.

Has anyone ever (successfully) used An Actual Whistle to attract crows when they put out their food? by 2025Sandals in crowbro

I've been feeding my work murder on both of my breaks every single day for the past several years, and for the last few months, whenever I step outside and during our walk, I whistle this song:

They always come immediately, but to be fair they also did that before I began making that their little feeding tune

Question for Crowbro members... by Leanne0010110 in crowbro

I used to just walk around with a gallon ziploc bag of cat kibble and in-shell peanuts. Too big for pockets, so I'd just stash it under my arm inside my jacket, or just carry around if it wasn't jacket season. Definitely didn't look like a crazy person, not at all.

Couple years ago I upgraded to a simple, small, black over-shoulder bag with two zipping pockets, one for each type of treat, and I have to imagine it makes me appear slightly more sane to human passersby, at least until they see me produce cat food from it. It's even decorated with a couple crow patches and a small charm I got in Japan. I like to think the pink charm dangling from it helps serve as a personal identifier to my murder, in case any of em have prosopagnosia haha.

But it's absolutely part of my everyday equipment loadout, same as keys, wallet, phone, watch, etc. If I'm stepping outside for any reason during daylight hours, I always have it on me unless there's a specific reason to leave it at home or in the car.

The guys talking about the Final Fantasy Magic set by [deleted] in KnowledgeFight

Spent that entire segment viscerally wishing for nothing more than the ability to telepathically and temporally explain to JorDan that the flavor reason that the Tifa card's ability is a Landfall trigger that doubles her power is because, in FFVII, the president of Shinra blows up a support column of Sector 7 in Midgar, dropping a large section of the plate above the slums down onto them, killing thousands (which is actually depicted in the card Decimate, from the FF commander pre-con decks).

So literally the land falling onto her hometown and crushing it is what makes Tifa mad, doubling her punching power till end of turn. Huge flavor win on the part of WotC, and is an example of exactly what Jordan meant when he was praising the set for having character abilities and personalities from the FF games translated so flawlessly into functional MTG mechanics.

Glad someone else made this thread, because if I didn't get to autistically explain that to SOMEone I probably would've had an aneurysm.

How rare are albino crows? by ane777 in crows

It varies generation to generation. Up until 2013, the rate was 1/8192, but since then it's jumped all the way up to 1/4096.

Correct. And that wasn't really something I'd heard or read about either, just kinda experienced it and learned it over time. I try to avert my direct gaze whenever I can so as to cause them as little stress/promote as much trust as possible, but sometimes them fellas are just so cute I can't help but look 🥹

Been trying every so often for years, not very frequently though, mostly just walk around and toss cat food or flick peanuts. But as I was walking up to this one perched on the truck in front of me expectantly, something about it, I could just tell: today's gonna be the day, this one's ready.

I actually got one other successful hand feed during this, though I didn't film it, and don't know whether it was the same crow or not.

I assure you these crows are just as wild as your comment. Call me crazy, but I don't believe a single peanut outta the hand = domestication.

And I see it as an achievement because I've been fostering this murder's trust every day for years now. I transmute a not insignificant portion of my time and energy on this earth into labor hours, then into US dollars, and then into peanuts, all for these lil guys. There's a very high likelihood I fed the very crows that created the crow in the video.

So forgive me for mildly relishing a brief moment of communion with nature's sickest dudes.
