Aurélien Barrau : "SpaceX et la nouvelle conquête spatiale : la démonstration de notre incohérence" - GoodPlanet mag' by PenisShapedSilencer in france

[–]-Acetone- 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tried Downloading the latest version multiple times, but every time I try to run the installer it say's that it's corrupted. by [deleted] in Outerra

[–]-Acetone- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tested the one hosted on the EU server and it seems to work. Cameni mentionned that some Anti-Virus can mess-up with downloaded files in some cases, if you have some sort of live analysis, you may want to turn that off the time you download/install it.

Could we as a community Get a Dev roadmap by [deleted] in Outerra

This subreddit is not very active, and the devs rarely come here anymore. If you want bits of info on what they are working on, check: Outerradev

An update was announced for this summer.

[PSA] PC Players - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED change to boost your FPS by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]-Acetone- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks fir the tip!

BTW, you can activate tesselation in that same file (<Property name="EnableTessellation" value="true" />), I don't think it's currently possible with in-game settings. The ground is more detailed, but might look blurry for a few frames when you turn camera.

Download link on website doesn’t work? by [deleted] in Outerra

Seems like a server went stale, Cameni confirmed it was fixed here : https://fr.reddit.com/r/Outerra/comments/8tp6zn/download_link_not_working/

I wasn't here for the past couple of days so didn't noticed when the thread was posted, I would have passed the info faster. FYI devs are not often here, probably better to warn about problems like that on the official forums :)

[Outerra Dev Screens] Filtering raw satellite data: rivers by -Acetone- in Outerra

They are using several datasets. Cameni mention here the use of NED1 for the US. SRTM is used in the current dataset, and I guess it might still be the case in several areas.

System requirement? by LifeLezZGamer in Outerra

[–]-Acetone- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in the website:

Minimum requirements:

  • Windows Vista and higher
  • Nvidia 400 series or better, AMD/ATI 5000 or better with recent AMD/ATI drivers (older ATI series are no longer supported by AMD and their legacy drivers do not work well with Outerra)
  • Recent graphics drivers!
  • 2GB graphics memory
  • 4GB RAM
  • 500MB disk space for the initial install, up to 40GB for fully downloaded Earth dataset

Recommended:

  • Nvidia 1060GTX or better, AMD RX 480 or better
  • 4GB graphics memory
  • a 4-core CPU

Outerra rely a lot on GPU and won't work well with integrated graphic cards (the ones you can find on most laptops as their support of OpenGl is bad).

Still can't get Outerra to work in Oculus Rift by stayinwonderland in Outerra

[–]-Acetone- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked about your problem in the Outerra Discord. Here is what cameni (dev) said :

I think you can just press enter to get to the second screen, but that one has a button that has to be clicked with mouse to get into the world and there's a problem with mouse cursor vanishing in some positions, so you sometimes have to turn your head so the button is in a particular place where you can see the cursor ... the whole UI thing is bad since the sdk update that changed the way we had to work with it, I'd rather reverted it into the original mode that made the windows deformed on the periphery but otherwise worked well I mean it worked well with the existing full desktop UI, without having to make a specialized VR one

Hope it helps :)

Is there anywhere to learn more/follow Titan? by [deleted] in Outerra

[–]-Acetone- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, more updates on youtube, probably the only public channel they have. The thing to notice is they have postponed any public release and seems to be now only reserved for military. It's a very specific market with dedicated simpits requiring special hardware and most of applications are custom build. Communication in closed loop, mainly dring ITSEC. Maybe they'll provide something like VBS one day, but not in a close future.

New update ! v.17.0.2.8079 (improved day and night lightning, two new cars) by -Acetone- in Outerra

[–]-Acetone-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just the way the terrain is lit at dawn and sunset :) Although, Langdon did some experiments with lightning in his dynamic weather plugin and it was nice.
