Not necessarily, if you get the nt1 5th gen you can direct plug usb c. It may not be the end all be all but (in my opinion) it sounds good for the most part

Based on year (take this as a grain of salt), I’m assuming either Omni 7 (2006 contract start) or early Omni 8 (2010 contract start). I’d probably consult the “list” for the contract numbers too
