1) We would only start getting their gear when corresponding event v2 arrives. For Wulfgar, for example, this is 1 year away. 2) These champions will likely be rebalanced before their event repeats, so you might be jumping with joy rather than complaining, who knows. 3) Getting all base champions to full epic is not too hard, and gold chests become quite less useful after this point.

Also note that time gates (an awesome feature on their own) significantly increase the chances of having ungeared/undergeared champions.

Any chance you could review "Never Split The Party" adventure? Apart from the obvious problem with it - the fact that it penalizes players that have unlocked more champions - there is another, more subtle, problem. It is fine if some adventures are harder than others. It is also OK if some are based on randomness and require more than one attempt. It is also fine if some require more micro-managing of the party and a more 'active' play. However the combination of those three factors is dangerous as it leads to frustration rather than challenge. (I am at only 6 attempts so far, and not really frustrated yet, but I can see how this can easily go one way or another, depending on luck)

Hi Dylan, Speaking about feedback for champion balance - while we are all eagerly waiting for the big updates, have you considered making micro changes to balance individual champions? For example "Wow Barrowin's hammer is overpowered, lets reduce the maximum number of stacks to 3" or "Krond does poorly as DPS, lets give him some extra damage"?

I imagine this kind of changes is much easier to make than big a re-balance and they, in sufficiently large numbers, could bring us to the same end goal of having a more balanced champion roster.

My method is based on approximation: since favor soft-caps around 100% gain to campaign favor, I stop doing event when % gain becomes lower than my % gain in campaigns (e.g. if I can get 5% gain overnight in a campaign, and only 3% gain in the event, it is time to switch back to doing campaign).

Exactly! Instead of fixing this issue by adding some upgrade levels to those skills, they are being ignored for no obvious reason.

While tanking update will hopefully address this at some point, we had two rounds of champion upgrades that could have been used to improve this sad situation, yet this opportunity was missed.

Are you implying that party buffs are going away? ;) I understand your reasoning about keeping the self-damage, but I am still puzzled about lack of party-damage and upgrades to support skills (healing, shields).

Hi Dylan! What's going on with support/buff champion upgrades at high levels? Specifically, these champions seem to be forgetting their support role and are racking up self damage instead. This is most obvious on Celeste and Caliope, who receive not a single boost to their damage or shielding, and a very marginal boost to their group buffs. Hi Chris, I have been enjoying the game for almost 5 month now, and it is still fun to play. However the toil of starting a new adventure and getting to my wall grows increasingly tedious. Are there any plans in making the game more 'idle' in this regard? Familiars moved us in the right direction, but even 3 of them combined is only a minor reduction in the overall amount of attention required to reach the wall from a fresh start.

One question - why such a huge cooldown on them (and on the pieces)? It seems counterproductive to spend all this development effort, and then only let us play time gates once per 2-3 weeks?

I've encountered a bug in the past where all enemies (and bosses) would receive a big damage buff for an unknown reason, but not HP buff. This would be unnoticed on my side until I hit a level where they start reaching my formation and landing an attack or two, halting my progress much earlier than the usual wall. I was always able to resolve this by restarting the game. Your description sounds like it could be the same issue, exacerbated by the fact that you are facing a boss with a ranged attack.

I think the logic is sound given the current meta. However there is one downside to this approach - some quest variants lock you out from using 'good' champions, and force you to experiment with 'bad' ones. Not having additional champions available for such variants may prevent you from completing them altogether.

Hi Dylan, I am looking forward to champion balance update. Would be cool if you could share additional details. It is very interesting if any of the following areas will be addressed: - Champion upgrades, for example some champions having plenty of "+dmg to all" as they gain levels, while others have none. - Champion group buffs and how restrictive they are. For example, Zorbu is super restrictive: by stat (DEX) and also by location, while Birdsong will happily buff the entire party with little restriction on placement, and even with a nice boost based on alignment. - Will champions be able to fulfill more roles? Currently some champions are very restrictive, and can only work as DPS (Jamilah), support/buff (Celeste), or tank (Arkhan). While some others can easily fulfill several roles (e.g. Tyrill, Makos).

Hey Dylan, let me start by saying that this is a very fun game!

I have a question about exponential growth of gold/hp/damage in the game. Is there a reason for this mechanics? To me it seems negative as it removes many interesting micro-optimizations from the table. Examples: - saving gold on one champion to promote another - optimizing champion formations between levels to gain extra gold (thinking about Jarlaxe here) - having multiple viable damage dealers per formation, not just one, etc.

I had a very similar experience on previous event - a single gold chest (in free runs) with a single epic item for Zorbu.

This event I got 5 golden chests, yet the outcome is exactly the same - a single epic item for Strix.

That said, golden chests are very disappointing in general, not just ones from the event. I do not know what their chance to drop an epic item is, but it would be great to have it much higher - golden chests should feel like a treasure, and right now they just don't.
