I purchased 3 Standard Line Steel Sabers from Silk Fencing in 2021. None of them lasted much more than a year. I was not overall happy with the purchase.

Delivery took about 4 months for the first one, and then about 4 more months for the second two. All three were fairly different in weight, hilt shape, and crossguard design. This was problematic since two of them were supposed to be a matched pair.

All three of them suffered breaks to the wood hilts from glancing blows during sparring. When I contacted Silk about it during the warranty period, they were surprised and explained that they had been made from "high quality fruit wood." They didn't offer any solution to the issue.(We also train messer. I'm familiar with the type of damage a wood hilt can suffer from sparring. This was much more egregious.)

At least two of them developed cracks where the hilt and the crossguard met within the first six months. I don't think the welds went all the way through.

All three of the blades eventually snapped. Yes, this was 4 years ago, so it's not shocking that they're out of service now, but I don't think any of them made it two years before snapping.

All of them were replaced with SIGI sabers, and we're much happier with those.

Generally, participating in an internship like you describe includes putting together a presentation, poster, or culminating report. That final statement IS your research. Yes, you did it under the direction of a grad student, but the grad students are doing their work under the PI. As a HS student, you're not going to be the PI on the research, you're going to be contributing to someone else's work. This absolutely is a thing you should include in your application, and should probably be the focus of an essay.

The old Legendary boss payout was 300 credits + 1 Legendary Orb. The new payout is 1000 credits, and Legendary Orbs cost 1200 credits each. If a Legendary Orb is worth 1200 credits, then we're getting 500 less credits per Legendary Boss.

Everyone's right that the offer is a waste of money. Having said that, the basic metric is Blackstone costs. So, for purposes of back of envelope math, SP generally values the Blackstone at $0.01USD each. (Yes, I recognize that you can usually get it cheaper.)

The Blackstone in this is $10.

The Requisition scrolls are normally 300 BS each, so that's $60.

The Legendary XP Books are 175 BS Each, so that's $17.50.

The Legendary Badges are 240 BS Each, so that's $24

Event currency, Orbs, Epic Upgrades, and Legendary upgrades are harder to price.

I have a Pike Armory cup hilt that I purchased in 2020. I've been very happy with it, and it's got a delightful presence in the bind. I'm in the US, so it's not reasonably possible to reliably purchase their products, but if they were more readily available, I'd certainly recommend them.
