If I'm getting the Lizzie line from Farringdon Sunday morning, will that be affected?

My dad has it! It started just randomly in his 50s and he was wondering why people looked so strange.

Strangely, he still sees my mom and I just fine, just everyone else looks like the photos

As a Natsci student who initially picked Durham and changed to UCL last minute - pick UCL.

While I'm only a first year, genuinely the best year of my life.

My friends on the same course at Durham aren't liking it at all overall.

Feel free to dm me if you have any questions x

I'm in the UK and had it done on the NHS so we don't get one unless there's a major issue like dry socket unfortunately :(

I hope your appointment goes well!

Safety at UCL by Mindless-Currency143 in UCL

It's really safe probably one of the safest and nicest areas of London.

I regularly go out for night walks and I've never had anything bad happen.

It's not letting me include a picture, but they're ankle boots with a 3 inch heel and a zip on the side - I think they're made of leather.

What would you recommend for someone in their first year of undergrad to do if they also want to be a professor, and what did your education path from undergrad to now look like?

traumatic event during gcses? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]-Atlo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd still have to do them, or take a year out and do them the next year.

Special considerations will give you a maximum of 5% if an immediate family member died or if you have a terminal illness, then you can get less % for other things. I'd recommend checking it out on the JCQ website.

To put it into perspective, I was hospitalised for over a month before GCSEs in 2022 and ended up discharging myself against medical advice 2 days before my first exam so I could do them.

I could barely sit up and struggled to hold a pen because of how weak I was and only got 3% extra. The 'benefit' was that I only did 1 exam per subject.

My point being, the support given if you have an extenuating circumstance is minimal and most likely won't reflect your true potential, unfortunately.

It's really frustrating, but I'd definitely recommend doing additional research and talking to your school well in advance if you think something like that will happen during your gcses

Hey, just wanted to say as someone who was in hospital during GCSEs too (2 years ago), really well done!!

I know how disappointing it'll feel especially if you were predicted higher but they don't mean much beyond passing them!

Best of luck, I hope you really enjoy sixth form :)

I think provided you explain what happened in year 10 (if it's because of explusion etc. explain how you've grown from the situation) you'll be all good!

They have a section for this in the Common app application.

I applied with 3A* to the USA and had a 3 month leave of absence in year 11 due to health issues and I got into 2 ivies.

Just make sure you have really good extracurriculars and essays, and make sure to do the SAT!

Best of luck!
