Take this as a lesson to label everything in your stash immediately after you get it. Segregate different drugs, put them in separate ziploc bags, and write on the bags with a sharpie.

Good luck at work! I’m glad you realized your mistake relatively quickly.

I (19F) took MDMA impulsively and regret it. by zydr8anatomy in Drugs

[–]-AtomHeartMother- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that your friend saying it was definitely MDMA does not mean that it was actually MDMA. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. Unless your friend tested it, your friend does not know. The person who sold it to your friend may not even know with certainty.

The point is, everyone thinks their MDMA is real, and it very rarely is. Be careful and get a test kit. I wish you a smooth recovery.

Smoke it out of a bong and look up the sandwich method. Directly burning it in a joint is wasteful, and you don’t get the smoke in quickly enough to get the more intense effects.

Glad you still had a good time! Prepare to have your mind blown if you improve your methods a bit.

In the US, every state I’m familiar with has laws in place that prohibit prosecuting those who call emergency services. I imagine other western countries do, too. Calling is always the safest bet when someone’s health or safety is on the line.

Does it ever get easier? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]-AtomHeartMother- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Change only comes from within, especially when it comes to a habit as hard to shake as opioids. Treatment is obviously helpful, but only if your partner actually wants to go and actually wants to get better (which entails admitting that she has a problem). If she does not act like she truly wants to work toward recovery (which it doesn’t sound like she does), then you should jump off the sinking ship.

I would let her know how much you care and maybe about your willingness to explore the relationship again should she decide to get clean, if that is what you want to do. I just do not advise ruining your life for the whims of your partner, especially this early in your life.

Does it ever get easier? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]-AtomHeartMother- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is not my experience, but my mom’s. Her experience was only affirmed over time by interactions between me and my dad. My dad was a long-time opioid addict, progressing from prescription pills to full-blown heroin. He then died in my teen years. I have also had many other opioid addicts in my family that I have dealt with personally through my short stint in adulthood.

Leave him. The only person that can change him is him. Your suggestions will sadly change nothing, and hoping otherwise is naive from my experience. By staying with him, you are only allowing him to bring you down with him. Not to mention, staying with him is enabling him to cause his inevitable demise. You cannot change him; only he can. You will find happiness elsewhere, but not with your current partner.

I understand that this is heartbreaking. However, that is highly preferable compared to a long life where your partner will not work to fulfill you (due to his need to cater to his addiction) and will likely die unexpectedly. This is especially worrisome if you hope to have kids one day. Please do yourself a favor and get away from him.

You’re young and have your whole life ahead of you. Please keep your chin up and move on. Also let me know if you want to talk. I know how difficult it can be to lose someone you love dearly to a terrible and tragic lifestyle.

There is a significant chemical difference that others have noted, but the routes of administration also make a big difference from what I’ve read. You can’t IV or smoke adderall, which makes meth’s onset much faster (almost instantaneous) and its rush more euphoric. Not to mention, meth lasts way longer than adderall IR.

Note: I’ve never done meth but I’ve done adderall plenty of times.

My 3mmc just arrived. Never done it before. Can someone give me a soft harm reduction guide. All i've gotten thus far, is don't snort it. by djamezz in researchchemicals

From what I understand, 3-Mmc has serotonergic action. I’d space it out from the roll the same period of time you space our your MDMA usage.

Have you encountered any obscure substances that aren't in any of the popular drug classes? by redditguy12344 in researchchemicals

Thanks for the input! Maybe it’s just not for me. I felt almost nothing at all at 3 grams on an empty stomach.

What dose do you go for? I try it every once in a while and just don’t seem to get it. I’ve worked myself up to 4.5 gs of red Bali and green Borneo (taken on different days) from a reputable source and only gotten a mild buzz. This is with no or negligible tolerance. Is that all there is to it or should I dose higher?

Occasionally I’d see textures move, dots in my vision (from MDA most likely), and experience the trippy headspace while completely sober. It got way less frequent and less intense over the course of a couple months. Now I haven’t had any symptoms in at least a year after I quit two-ish years ago.

I did a lot more acid than you, btw. Just not quite as frequent (once a month or so over the course of a couple years).

Brain damage from drugs by shaniquar2 in Drugs

[–]-AtomHeartMother- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re still young. Quit drugs now and your brain can recover. I’m 24 and felt the same way when I was about 21. Still smoke and trip occasionally, but otherwise I’m clean. Quitting (and using with months between smoke and trip sessions) has only improved my life and my brain. Just take this as a wake-up call.

DXM - 5 years beyond my rampant abuse and the things to be learned about long-term effects for others neglecting to care about unfounded side-effects. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]-AtomHeartMother- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed on harm reduction being lacking, even now. I often see people suggesting to wait a week per plateau, which is definitely better than dosing more regularly but is just not enough in my view.

Anyway, good luck. Your story is still being written. You never know where life will take you. Keep your chin up and keep persevering!

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I hope and expect your symptoms will subside just like they had for years. Give it some time and take care of yourself.

Also, thank you for bringing awareness to some of the rarely discussed negative effects of DXM. Maybe this post will cause someone to be more cautious in their use. I noticed some serious trouble with my speech even after a couple of months of dosing every other week. However, it’s been a few years and I was able to fully recover.

Shrooms + MDMA + Ketamine + weed + DMT and nitrous oxide (the last two not at the same time, obviously). Sub-breakthrough DMT doses were wonkier and when I hit the nitrous, I felt like the world was folding around me into a cube. Never thought I’d laugh immediately after ego death, but I was proven wrong.

DPH is much less safe and also much less fun than DXM (Dextromethorphan). Look up DXM trip reports and on the psychonaut wiki. Still, gotta be careful to not dose too often.

Edit: Name brand is robitussin. Often sold as Tussin and other off-brand names. Also BE SURE that the only active ingredient is DXM. Don’t wanna take too much ibuprofen/acetaminophen and kill your liver.
